Spiral Knights(Free Steam Game)

So I started to play Spiral Knights last night. It's a pretty solid game. It is a dungeon crawler of sorts that is fully co-op as well. You can level and gain new equipment as you progress through the game.

Also, you can earn a new hat for TF2.

1.3GHz
512 MB Ram(xp), 1GB(Vista/7)
64mb video card
300mb HDD space

Quick question. Can you play Steam online (like co-op) for free or do you pay for that like an Xbox Live subscription?

Pretty much everything multiplayer on Steam is free(once you own the game of course).

There are some games with monthly fees but it tells you that on the store page.

Well, I need to buy something so I can add friends. Won't let me have full access until I buy something. Any suggestions? Don't want anything too pricey.

How do I check if my computer meets the system requirements? If my computer can run TF2, should it be able to run this?

I'm not buying anything for the game. You seem to be able to play most of it without buying anything.

I meant add friends on Steam in general. It says I need to get full access and I need to purchase something to obtain that status.

@ChrisP- If you look around the store they let you sort it by games that are under five bucks, ten bucks, ect. Also if you like FPS just download TF2 and you can spend five bucks and get two keys to open crates.

@brawlmaster- Yeah I think if TF2 works this should work fine.

The energy you use to go down to harder levels?

You have to buy/find a Mist tank, or wait. Sadly to refill the meter completely takes something like 24 hours, so when you use it up you are forced to either quit playing or spend time trying to craft things.

The easiest way I know to check is to right click on the My Computer icon on the desktop(if you have one) and choose properties.

This will tell you the speed of the processor and the ram equipped.

To check your graphics card is slightly different. While in the same menu click on the Hardware tab and then device manager. Find "Display Adapters" in the list, open the list and see what it lists. Then you'll probably have to google the card to find it's specs.

I got introduced to this a while ago and forgot about it, thanks for reminding me about it. It's a fun little game.

After putting a few more hours into it, I have some more info

-You can buy and sell energy using crowns.
-You can play solo if you wish. The amount of enemies does not change, but their HP does.
-Playing solo allows you to explore the levels at your own speed and collect more items. Coop tends to be full of people just flying through the levels.
