This
17th episode of Retronauts Live features my first duties as host, a role I hope to play until my inevitable burnout months down the line (I'm predicting spring 2012). But until then, please enjoy our 84-minute retrospective on the Super NES, one which I completely overprepared for due to my sheer devotion to Nintendo's 16-bit console -- oh yeah, and I also wanted to make a good impression on the 1UP audience, who have (presumably) been listening to Retronauts since its debut in 2006. Please be kind; it's my first day.
That said, the direction of Retronauts shouldn't be changing too drastically, outside of the fact that upcoming episodes may lack the whole "live" angle. But don't worry; we'll still have call-in episodes now and then where you can share your knowledge, ask a question, or attempt to alienate us before we alienate you. And since I'm new to this whole podcasting game -- especially the hosting part -- I'd appreciate some honest, open feedback from 1UP users. I've been listening to Retronauts since episode one, so I'd like to uphold the standards of what's always been one of my favorite podcasts. With an entire office full of IGN and 1UP staffers available to us, we'll be able to cover any topic under the retro banner. So if you've noticed any major oversights within the extensive Retronauts back catalog, let me know!
If you're into the Super Nintendo, I can almost guarantee that this is the perfect Retronauts episode for you. I've tried to include all the information I gleaned from researching my Super Nintendo retrospective for the
second issue of 1UP Presents; I'm very happy with how it turned out, and can't wait to read the feedback once it goes live (of course, you savvy readers can stay ahead of the game by
