I play on Medium/Hyperspeed 5.
Favorite songs are One, Paint it Black, and Even Flow.
I hate Miss Murder with a passion because I hate emo.
Biggest Note Streak: How many notes are in Story of My Life?
I have it for Wii.

All 5 stars on easy.
Half way through Med. Mostly 4 and 5 stars so far.
What does hyperspeed do for you?

Re: guitar hero 3 info
Beat it on Expert, then sold it cause I got Rock Band.
Best songs on it:
Black Magic Woman by Santana
Pride And Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan
Knights Of Cydonia by Muse
Cliffs Of Dover by Eric Johnson
The only thing I didn't do in that game that I really wanted to do was beat Through The Fire And The Flames on expert, but Hey-zeus Christ...

Easy - all *****
Med - beat all songs but Raining Blood, but I suck at the battles...wussed out of all of them.
Through The Fire And The Flames just scares me. I need to put in more rehearsal time.

Who are you again?
Raining Blood sucks. Was the only song I had to try really hard at to get 5 stars on easy. I couldn't get a the red green red notes for some odd reason, I was playing them too fast and not strumming the middle note.
Anyway I know that once I beat Med I'm going to have to start over, training myself to use my index finger to play the top 2 frets.

Hyperspeed makes it fast but they're more spaced out.

Raining blood does suck...I had to move onto med and go back for that one. For too long I was mocked by:

I just don't play it nearly enough...I get crosseyed very quickly. It also doesn't help that I got it at about the same time as Mario Galaxy, RE4, DDR (yes that DDR) and my brand new DS w/ Phantom Hourglass.

Re: guitar hero 3 info
This thread went quiet, so I'll try to revive it. I'm hoping to get some advice from you more experienced players.
I delved into Guitar Hero for the first time this Christmas, purchased the Guitar Hero II Bundle Pack, thinking it would be a fun party game. As I'm sure happens to everyone, my friends, family (wife included) were instantly hooked, and our lives were transformed forever.
I have essentially mastered Medium difficulty on GH2. I've rented GH3 and GH 80's and can pretty much rock those on Medium as well.
My question is... How do you progress from Medium to Hard? Where do you start? What is the proper hand placement? Do I keep my pinky on orange at all times and use my index finger to transfer from Green to Red, or do I have to shift all my finger up and down the neck by one fret?
Please advise. I want to prove to the world that I am the TRUE Guitar Hero! ;D

Re: guitar hero 3 info
Well I'm retraining my index finger to play the top 2 frets, and only sliding my hand when I have to play a chord. To do this I started over on easy only using 2 fingers to play. I have heard this is the way to go. When I tried to slide my hand up and down I'd "lose" where my fingers are at.

Same thing happens to me.
Trak Masta says he beat the game on Expert. I'd like to hear what he has to say.
I'm definitely going to try playing easy with only two fingers. Brilliant idea, but hitting the Hammer On/Pull Offs (Green to Red to Yellow, etc.) seems like it would be very difficult with only one finger once you get into the Hard mode.

Re: guitar hero 3 info
The trick to moving to hard...which is not impossible mj lol is just practicing and getting a feel for that orange button, get used to sliding your hand up....remember you have 4 fingers and there are only 5 buttons. gettin that pinky into shape helps too dont forget about it haha.

Yes it does, I never used my pinky for anything and it was really weak. I'm not lying.
I'm better at playing bass now though.

Re: guitar hero 3 info
Let's see. I just finished getting 5 stars on every song (including bonus songs) on medium yesterday, and I've just defeated Slash on hard. Can't say I have even FOUR stars on any song on hard though, still getting used to that orange button.

It's what happens when you rush a game system into the market.
From, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_36...nical_problems
When a Microsoft Xbox 360 console experiences a "general hardware failure", three flashing red lights appear on the front of the console, known by gamers as the infamous "Red Ring of Death" (RROD for short), it is also known as the "Red Ring of Doom". Exactly how many users have experienced this problem is unknown to the public.
Oh and let's stay on topic here. If you guys want start a new thread about the rings of doom. And I may split this thread when I get some time. Sabby if you see this go ahead and do so if you want.

Re: guitar hero 3 info
To get us back on topic, I hear NuSkool say that he uses the "Fret Shifting" strategy.
How do you keep your hands in proper position?
Perhaps I just need to practice, practice, practice.
Unfortunately, I don't have time or the energy.

Re: guitar hero 3 info
well its really hard to explain, but i use my thumb as an "anchor" if you will...lol When i shift my hand all i really do is slightly push with my thumb to the left which moves my whole hand slightly to the right. Or if there is just one orange note and not a slew of them just stretch your pinky over there asnd press the orange button! Or you can feel your way down the frets and once your index finger leaves the first green fret and you still feel four frets you know your pinky is on the orange because there are only 5 buttons. It definitely helps to be relaxed, dont grip the guitar with a death grip just chill lol. But really it just boils down to getting a feel for the frets...practice practice practice
