Protoman Zero's Epic Movie Reviews 4: Dragonball Z- Wrath of the Dragon

No, someone didn't piss off Shinron. When the Z Fighters meet a red human with whiskers says a terrible threat is coming to Earth and only someone in a music box can stop it. When Gohan and Goku fail to open it (Yes, Goku actually failed at something) So Goku & the weird human, Gohan, Trunks & Goten, and Krillin search for the Dragonballs to wish the music box open. After Shinron opens the box, we meet Tapion, a Link knockoff(Pointed ears, sword, Orcnaria) who actually was sealed away to prevent the evil force. Trunks wants to be friends with Tapion, but Tapion yells at Trunks to get out. But after the two reincounter the red whiskered human who's actually an evil alien (Really, I see whiskered red humans all the time (sarcasm intended)) Tapion decides to hang with Trunks. But when the red alien calls up a terrible beast, only Goku, Trunks, Gohan, Goten, a pissed Vegeta, and Tapion can destroy it! DA EPICNESS!

Epicness: 8/10
Fighting: 10/10
Humor: 3/10
Story: 8/10
Quality: 8/10

Score: 94%
Grade: Supah Rad!

Re: Protoman Zero's Epic Movie Reviews 4: Dragonball Z- Wrath of the Dragon

I haven't seen this movie, I got tired of Dragonball Z long before I even saw any of the movies, I grew tired of it somewhere right after Frieza, though I did watch some of the bits with Cell.
Dragonball Z really isn't my thing, I have my issues with it.
First of all, it takes forever for one fight to happen, they have to spend at least fifteen minutes of each episode shouting at each other about what they are going to do, and who is the strongest.
Second, they shout the names of attacks which clearly take time to charge, the person being attacked will always choose not to dodge or block, often times ending up with a serious injury.
Too many characters dieing and being revived, being terribly injured and magically being healed.
Too many different forms, each character has at least three forms, and each character claims that each form is his final form.
Next, you have my dislike of immovable, spiky hair.
And finally, the plot ceased to be never was entertaining. Ultimate villain appears, beat ultimate villain, villain form change, defeated by ultimate villain. Train in alternate dimensional chamber with hyper-gravity and crap. Face ultimate villain again, defeat second form. Villain form change, change to new level of Super-Saiyan, defeat ultimate villain for good. Any injured/killed heroes will be magically restored and then a new ultimate villain will be seen doing something on another planet, the planet which the heroes just happen to be going to for whatever reason completely unrelated to fighting evil.

Picollo only has one form and so do the human fighters such as Krillin and Yamcha. I liked Dragonball and DBZ and DBGT for all the reasons you dislike it.

Piccolo only had one form? So the fusions with Kami and Nail don't count? I get that. Maybe it should have focused more on the human fighters, I liked them more.
I liked it fine, but I hit my limit after Frieza. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't particularly good. Maybe part of my dislike of it comes from my dislike of ultra-long anime series.
I liked Dragonball much better, it was much more focused on the characters than the action. I like action just fine, but I prefer things that are more character driven.

If you say so. But, I can think of quite a few anime that don't follow that same formula.

It's actually a pretty good idea. That way, kids will tune back in to see the fights.
