Couldn't see most of the screen, it was all garbled. I'll try again later to see if it happens everytime. If anyone else wants to test it too that'd be great. Also the number of times played seems broken. When a battle starts the screen will get glitchy looking like NES would do. Multicolor blocks and random letters and numbers on screen. This happens whenever the menu comes up letting you move/attack/flee ect. Which sucks since that screen is very important. It's not completely unplayable, just can't tell where you'r moving the cursor.

Any way to get another copy of this game? It's a very cool underrated game.

NO!!!! This game is on my favorites list. I haven't played it much but I intend to put some time into it later.

Well for a quick way to test what happened to me....
Pick Otto the gray haired looking guy(pretty sure he's British). When you start and finally leave port with a ship try attacking anything in sight. Like I said I noticed the messed up graphics when a battle turn comes up. I haven't tried playing one of the other characters but I doubt it's specific to the one guy. Although it would be awesome if the other characters worked.

I mainly curious about this. I don't know where all these games are coming from. If it's possible to pull another copy/version of this game out of the attic please do so. Would suck to have to remove it, more people should play this game it rules.

I tested it and got the same results. Happens to all the characters you choose. No way to fix it. Deleted. Looked like an awesome game though.

There copies from the original game cartridge. Sometimes you can substitute a European or Japanese version for the US version but in this case there isn't any other versions. Also normally the problem is caused because the game is trying to use a part of the original system (Genesis in this case) that is not commonly used and not programmed into the emulator. If that is the case it normally happens in all versions.

Buck Rodgers, Shining Force 2 and Immortal are also glitched. All are IMO in the top 5 best Genesis games.

the only way they could return is if someone updated the emulator with a new mapper that supports these games which i dont have the skill to do so in answer to your question these games probably wont be comming back

Just wondering. This game is still on my favorites and it loads up. I didn't bother playing it because I figure it's still glitched. Why is it still here, I thought it was deleted?

I added this to the bug description "Ship fighting has major graphic problems that makes the game almost unplayable." And re-enabled it.

If you are just looking for a game to play and have fun then the bug is going to get in your way.

If you want to see a preview of the game and the intro story for nostalgia reasons or just to see what the game was like then it works well enough. There are a couple other games on the site that have similar bugs and are on the site still for the same reason.

I guess if someone really wanted to they could avoid the ship battles and just be a merchant. Although fighting other ships is awesome you should be able to avoid it and still complete the game(sounds like a challenge!). It's a damn shame this doesn't work well. It's really one of the coolest games on the site.

It works here perfect in ArcadeOX. The errors above were referring to Java and were posted before ArcadeOX existed. Retro Uprising - Arcade - Uncharted Waters 2 - New Horizons
