Metal Assault (What looks to be a Metal Slug clone but Online)

So, Aeria games has just put out emails telling players to sign up for the beta of Metal Assault, which at a glance looks like a metal slug clone. I've signed up for the beta and plan to see how it is, I figured I would share the info with you all. Taking a look at the video though it looks like you aim with your mouse and run 'n gun. Looks like it could be fun, But with Aeria, expect all the "good" items to be cash shop and expensive, and luck based on top of being cash. (I've played Aeria games before, they love gatchapon type item distrubution and especially love making you pay cash to repair items -.-) But all gripes aside, it looks like a fun little game. I'll give more details if/when i get into the closed beta. Cheers

Wouldn't you be told not to share anything during a closed beta? Maybe this kind of company doesn't care but I know I've heard of that with other online betas.

Its Korean made, the source game has been out over there for a while and it would be easy to get the info and whatnot on it by getting that version. They don't really care what you do. Rarely rarely will you see someone like Aeria games or any other multiple free MMO game host actually make you agree to a NDA(Non-Disclosure Agreement). I have been in a few beta tests where they require NDAs though. Battletech 3025 (Which was closed down for seemingly no reason by EA. :<) , Earth and Beyond (EA strikes again, though this one stuck around for a while) and Black Prophecy (Still in closed beta).

That games looks really good. The sound and graphics are really crisp and clear. I'd play it.

Was that Ikariam? I think I joined up while it was dying out so I may think a little differently about it.

Yeah I meant Ikariam. It was slow for months but we did have a guild from May 08 until a couple weeks ago. Last I checked sabby and Kong were still playing too.

If anyone has any interest in trying Ikariam before it collapses in on itself you should take Kongs offer. Besides military his account is probably one of the best, if not the best, on the server. I forget if anyone has more towns than him but either way, it's up there.

Btw did you ever build a military besides that one time way back when? It's just kinda funny that you've been playing a war game online for years without even a standing army to defend with.

Not really. They keep opening new servers but in reality the game has been on a steady decline for quite a while. The company doesn't care about it's customers, all they care about is milking stupid people who jump to new servers constantly.
