Restrepo
If any of you have the means or the chance, check out the documentary, Restrepo. The film follows a platoon of American soliders into the Korengal Volley in Afghanistan for a period of over a year. It is excellent.
It is available on the instant queue on Netflix.

Re: Restrepo
Hmm, sounds interesting. I use Netflix frequently, and I have a movie I just got today I am going to watch. I'll probably get it off the instant queue to watch Thursday or Friday.

Re: Restrepo
I didn't think it was political at all.
Specially, it follows a platoon from their deployment to Korengal, a region of heavy combat in Afghanstan, the construction of an outpost named after one of their comrades killed in action, patrols and interactions with the locals, and how the soliders pass the time. The footage is intermixed with the soldier's accounts of the events in interviews after they returned to the States.
Language is pretty crude, multiple scenes of combat, several disturbing images if you are watching and children are around.

Re: Restrepo
Co-director of the film, Tim Hetherington, was killed in a mortar attack this week covering the events in Libya.
Pulitzer prize winning photographer, Chris Hondros was killed in the same attack.
