disentanglement puzzle, help!

ok, so, here's the thing. I like those metal puzzles that you have to figure out how to separate the pieces or whatever. Recently as a gift I got 3 different types of puzzles but one I can't solve and I'm not sure if it's possible. It is very simple, only 3 pieces, two rings and a weird metal part. This is the best picture I've found on the internet

I think you have to disentangle both metal rings, I can only separate one. I don't have the instructions and I can't find the name of the puzzle online, or any other information on it. Well, I found a couple of people who sell it, but that didn't provide me with much information.

My friends can't solve it... I can't solve it... it is driving me mad... so if anyone here can help, I'd be eternally grateful...

By the way, I've watched about 50 youtube videos and nothing, so really, any help at all would make me very happy

Sorry, but this is really hard to do with one picture. Do you have a video camera? Can you take some pictures of it from different angles?

Ive taken one of those apart before but they are hard. I remember having to slide the middle ring to the top then trying to slide it between the side that comes apart but thats it.

If I'm not mistaken you need to use leverage and twist it through, I know that doesnt help but whatever, lulz.

Break it into pieces and put it back together. At some point along that journey you'll figure it out.

I like these kinds of puzzles. Try slow movements and do the opposite of what you've already tried. Patience is your friend. Other than that, I can't really help you unless I actually had the thing in my hands.

I'll take some pictures of it later, that's the only pic I've found online. I appreciate the help, and yeah, more than one have suggested the "easy" solution

The problem with these puzzles is that they test your patience as well as your spacial engineering abilities.
When the solution is presented I invariably feel the need to facepalm - partially because the solution is usually not too complex, and also because it makes me feel dumb.

The other thing about puzzles like those is that once you find the solution, {and have tortured everyone else in your social circle with it} it pretty much becomes a dust collector.
I recommend keeping the box stored away so you can pass it along once this process is complete.

Sorry NG, but as I implied, I'm no good at these and they only get me worked up.
