Re: Gametrailers: Castlevania Retrospective
What can be said. I have loved this series since the original. I still play it from time to time.

Re: Gametrailers: Castlevania Retrospective
Then you have the Deck Brush. Curse of Darkness has to be Castlevania's king of weird weapons.

They're probably hidden so we don't ridicule them for silly ideas like that

Thanks Kong, when this whole list is all said and done, you don't mind editing them to the top
of this thread (My first post)?
Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Gametrailers: Castlevania Retrospective
The one constant weapon in some of these Castlevanias: Death's Scythe. in Curse Of Darkness it inflicts 150 damage, but so hard to get...

Only the ones that are RPGs, and it was not in Circle of the Moon or Harmony of Dissonance, both of which were RPGs.

To be honest, I prefer Bloodlines over Rondo of Blood.

Re: Gametrailers: Castlevania Retrospective
Death's Scythe wasn't in Portrait of Ruin or Order of Ecclesia either.
I prefered Bloodlines over Rondo of Blood too, but then again Bloodlines was my first
Castlevania game, so I'm a little biased.

Re: Gametrailers: Castlevania Retrospective
I liked Circle of the Moon.
Despite having the worst story and art in the series, I really liked Dawn of Sorrow. One of the best of the series. The seals kind of pissed me off, though.
I need to get myself a copy of Portrait of Ruin.

Shame, but then again Circle of the Moon was one of a bunch designed to be different along with Order of Ecclesia.

I loved Symphony of the Night, still play it on Live Arcade from time to time. The music was very cool and went with the gameplay very well.

Circle of the Moon was the second Castlevania game to use the Metroid-style exploration.
The developers made it a bit more like the older Castlevania games by making it about a whip-wielding vampire hunter, instead of a slightly effeminate half-vampire.

Symphony of the Night is a classic, there is almost no game that can surpass that. The music was the best in the series, and probably the best of almost any game.

Re: Gametrailers: Castlevania Retrospective
As you can probably guess by my name and my sig, I can honestly say i have enjoyed every vania game I have played. this includes hte little tme on an n64 one..whcih plan to play more of somehow. For me, the entire series has been awesome. My first vania's were bloodlines and the Saturn symphony import. (whihc I obviously still cant read) I eventually managed to beat symphony wiht help of a site, but msot of that was trial and error. I have played hte GB vania games, I have played the nes difficulty games, honestly, the only vanias I have not played (not counting the japan only or kid dracula games, are harmony of despair, Order of ecclesia, portrait of ruin,Castlevania chronicles, and dracula X chronicles. I have completed symphony, circle, harmony of dssonance, Dawn of sorrow, aria of sorrow, bloodlines, and Rondo (thx to the wii!) and its SNES version Dracula XX.
