Clock Tower for Super Nintendo

Clock Tower is a survival horror video game series created by Human Entertainment and continued by Sunsoft. The series plays like a horror film and unlike some of the other survival horror games, the Clock Tower series does not focus on shooting creatures or using violence, but rather using the player's surroundings to hide and escape while solving puzzles and following the twisting storyline. The main character is usually quite helpless compared to the villains, so the main emotional connection to the game is the fear of being captured or discovered.

that game is awesome only problem is that most of it is pure, luck.. you need very specifc conditions to get to a decent ending^^. I have gotten each ending but ill play through this oen again to try and get some points XP

Nah, SOS is pure luck. All you really need to do in Clock Tower is check some of the predetermined conditions (whether or not you need to find the statue or the staff) and avoid certain events until Jennifer has learned more of the back story.

I think it was believed that this is harder than Hook, although that can be subjective at times I suppose.

If Hook is 21, then perhaps this game would be more appropriate as a 17.

It's hard to compare the difficulty of this to a platformer, once you know a few helpful tricks in this game you really can't get a bad ending on accident, but if you take a shot in the dark you will probably make quite a few blunders.
