Re: What do you play with?
Well Ive been using my new stick for a while and I must say its SWEET!!
All I had to do was map out my controller in the game menu and I was off to the races. Street Fighter 2 is 10 X's funner with one of these. I plan on revisiting all of the fighting games on my list soon. My only complaint on this stick is that it has a square gate under the stick.
I plan on updating it at some point to a octagonal gate that will make it easier for me to pull off QCF and QCB moves. Other than that for the time being this will be my controller of choice on here. Plus it works on my PS3...I dont think it gets any better lol

Re: What do you play with?
usually use z, x, c, f... any more and it gets a bit tricky. I use 'Shift' to load states and 'control' by the arrow key to save a state.

Re: What do you play with?
Keyboard, it isn't the most comfortable way to play games, but you get used to it.

Could you do that with a PS2 controller?

If you found software for it and you had a Play Station 2 controller with a USB plug, then yes.

So the real answer is probably not? I doubt you'll find much in the way of software for PS2, if is even possible. I've never heard of a PS1,2,3 controller working with the PC. I know the Xbox one works beautifully though.

Oh, it's pretty easy really. You just need to buy a converter like this one:
[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-2-PC-USB-Gamepad-Converter/dp/B000F6BGXY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1262628581&sr= 8-1]Amazon.com: Playstation 2 to PC USB Gamepad Converter: Video Games[/ame]
Then use Xpadder or something similar.

Don't go sounding like an Xbox commercial now, it's not entirely unlikely.

Re: What do you play with?
I use a keyboard and a logitech controller to play. Most of the time for short games I play with the keyboard. But for serious gaming I use my controller. I use it for both lap tops, and am very happy with it^^. Any castle vania be it game boy or not is a Controller affair for me^^ The only exceptions being flash and CV adventure.

Re: What do you play with?
Sorry to hear that Smittycal.. Does the Controller work in other games outside of the site? Does the PS3 controller work on the PS3 still?
I personally use a 2-Player X-arcade but I modded it slightly to shorten the height of the Joysticks. I found them a bit tall for my taste.
Could it be you need to configure the controllers again in Arcade-OX? Hope you are able to solve your problem soon.

That's cool that you use one of those Elrod. I hear they are awesome! Did you do the mod job yourself? What did you do, just switch out the joystick? I have looked at maybe picking-up a Solo version.

I just plugged in my Hori stick and it still works in my PS3. When I tested it with pinnacle it read it but it wouldnt let me configure. It did configure my logitech controller but it still isnt working on games.
How is that X arcaade stick? I was thinking of getting one It looks really fun!

Re: What do you play with?
Yup, I did the mod myself. All I did is adjust the spacers that were on the joystick shaft so less stuck out of the top.
I have heard of others completely replacing the joysticks with Happs Joysticks, and the way this thing is designed would make it easy to do so. I definitely found I play a lot better with this thing. Particularly Shoot-em-ups.
I am sure you will get even better than you already are if you start using one.

Re: What do you play with?
I modded mine as well. I changed the gate and put on a different color stick top. I was thinking of replacing the buttons with different colors...but my buttons work great so I figured I'd save the cash for something else.

Re: What do you play with?
That sucks that it still won't configure right for you. Were you not using X-padder before?
The nice thing about the X-arcade is it maps to the keyboard and you can program it to exactly which keyboard buttons each represents. It made it ideal for this site.

Very cool. Based on the pictures I have seen of the unit, I bet I would probably do the same thing. Good to know it can be done.

That's nice of you to say. You are an awesome gamer yourself! You have really been tearing it up lately.
I don't mind using a controller/game pad on certain systems and games (i.e. NES is made for this), but those classic Coin-Ops just scream to be played on a nice solid joystick.
From what I saw online, the solo version is the same except it doesn't have a trackball, though it looks like they have a track ball solo too. You guys are convincing me more and more to get one.

Re: What do you play with?
I found a homebrew app for my PSP online that lets me use it as a USB controller. It works well.
