takeshi's challenge, it is impossible to beat without a walkthrough. one part makes you hold down the a button for 4 hours, the last boss tkaes 20,000 hits, thats right hit any button 20,000 times, if you missed something in the game then you cant beat it- only the game doesnt tell you and you can play for eternity not knowing your getting no where. its truely brutal.

FF3us is only easy if you grind. The game was actually designed for the player not to grind at all.

Well you can go through and beat the game with three parties all with levels in the thirties. they also tried to force you to split experience/equipment with eleven mandatory plus three optional characters.

Also, your sig is sans Mog. Why?

Don't you remember last time you had a problem with my sig? I didn't make it I have no idea why they left mog out. I think you also had issue with the way some of them laugh, I forget now.
If you wanna update the gif I'd gladly replace it.

There's no boss that takes 20,000 hits in that game. By the way, there's no last boss at all the last time I checked.. That was an easter egg on how to get the ending from the starting screen. There's also no part in the game that makes you hold a button for four hours, but there was a part where you couldn't touch the controller for an hour. Or are you moaning about the part where you had to sing karoke?

There was another easter egg that if you hanglide the wrong way for as long as you can you end up flying over Russia for a brief amount of time before you have to crash.

on this game you have a couple of credits, but it is physically impossible to beat kid chameleon without warping to the last level. the game features over 100+ levels!!!

This was just an easter egg. If you punch the main menu 20,000 times you automatically go to the ending.

The question leads to why someone would grind if they were advancing fine without doing so.

Gestahl, Daryl, Arvis, Cid, and Sigfried are all pretty much excused for not having, but for the creator to leave out Mog is just cruel. Unless there's no laughing sprite for the moogles, then I would understand.

To make it easier? It doesn't matter why people would farm, you said they specifically intended for people to not do so. I still don't see any evidence of that.

You make it sound like I said the designers were trying to prevent of hinder grinding. All I meant was that the game does not require you to grind at all to finish it easily. Grinding actually makes the game less enjoyable.

The bottomline is I don't see any difference when compared to most RPGs. There are extreme cases like 7th Saga but for the most part grinding is usually a choice not a requirement or a penalty.

In Disgaea, it encourages you to grind. When you do, you can just pass a bill to make your enemies stronger.

ummm maybe they want to get 100% completion and get every last item,and do every last sidequest,without using a walkthru,maybe thats why they are supposedly "grinding levels".

I know that after I beat the game at about level 39 to 43 the first time.I then tried to find everything and do everything and get 100% completion.Came pretty close.Then the 3rd time thru I tried different party concepts.And then on the 4th time thru I used a walkthru to find and do everything.

I usually farm a little because I like to customize my character and in most games that requires levels. I don't farm to the point where it makes enemies easy though, the moment they get noticeably easier I just move on.

Another reason why players grind in the final fantasy games,is that if you dont grind,you wont get high enough level to get the best summons,espers,spells,like bahamut,ultima,nuke,meteor,etc.Yes you can technically beat the game at level 33,if you play perfectly,and have a little good luck.And maybe that does make for a harder more enjoyable challenge.And maybe that does make the story and plot funner.But you miss out on the best coolest looking attacks,items,spells,summons.You cant get the best things,until your about 40 to 50th level.

Yes I could have beat the game,at a lower level the first time I played thru it.And later on I played though the game in 22 hours and at 29th level,to see how quickly and the lowest level the game could be beat at.Doing that was less fun then playing these type of games like how I usually do,which is not running away from random encounters very often,doing a little tiny bit of grinding and farming here an there,searching,exploring the game world,and then progressing thru and enjoying the story.Doing it that way is funner for me.

I find if I do to much grinding and farming,the game isnt as fun.And I also find if I dont grind or farm at all,and just hurry thru the game as fast as possible,is also not as fun.The middle road,the middle ground between both extremes of grinding and farming to much all the time and not at all,is funner for me.

But thats just me.
