Well, you get results. I got average to below average on the maths ones, and did very well in the Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Creative Writing. So, this fits the bill. I know I was one of the smarter people at the school I went to last year (not being arrogant or anything, but it's true) and the not so smart girls didn't get in, but the ones who I knew were also smart did (they could only take 4 girls from my school). Trust me, the test mattered.

It all depends on the situation, some tests to matter, but others do not.

When I was going through elementary we had:

O=Outstanding
E=Excellent
A=Average
S=Satisfactory
UN=Unsatisfactory
I=You weren't at school enough to get a grade.

During middle and high school we had:

A+=95-100%(unless you got extra credit which could be like 110%)
A=90%-94.9%
B+=85%-89.9%
B=80%-84.9%
C+=75%-79.9%
C=70%-74.9%
D+=65%-69.9%
D=60%-64.9%
F=59.9% or lower

my grades? well, at Standard Grade, (GCSE or whatever you call them) we use numbers: 1 being the best (Credit), then 2 (still credit), 3(General) 4(general) 5(foundation (idiots

)) 6 (foundation) and 7 fail. for Higher: A,B,C,D,F i think, im unsure about the D...
