My mistake then. I thought since we seem ok with all kinds of questionable sex jokes that racist jokes wouldn't be a problem. Yeah justin I understand what you're saying but some stuff is crossing the line. Like I said I thought we were more relaxed about it but Tenser is right.

I have a hard time judging these kind of things because in person I'm usually very offensive, I swear like a sailor and I like to tell jokes that make people uncomfortable. I was raised this way and to me it's not a big deal but I do have to control myself in different situations, this is one of them. I feel bad I posted that joke now because I'm supposed to lead by example. I'm not gonna delete it and beg for forgiveness but I'll know better next time.

Man dont get all sensitive on us lol...I look at it like this. I know that racial jokes can get out of control and as a black person myself I have been on the end of a few of them. But we cant all just tip toe on egg shells around here. I thought the purpose of an 18+ thread and group was so that we can get a little out of hand w/o getting offended. WE can take it cant we? IMO the joke wasnt offensive to me. Ive heard far worse and as long as the "N" bomb dosnet explode Im cool. The same can be said for any racial slur, obviously none of us wants to get called out of there name.

I don't think it's my joke in particular that Tenser had a problem with, it's the whole racist thing in general. Once you allow jokes like mine other people will feel entitled to post worse ones. Like I said I regret it now, at the time I didn't think much of it. Everyone makes mistakes right?

These clips are not jokes, but I didn't find an other place for these clips other then the 18+ section and I don't feel like creating a new thread just for them.

Ok... old Finnish commerials for candys. I love these. Mostly because they are as far way as you can get from political correctness today.
For the slightly younger people here:
Back in the good ol'days, candys(and maybe other stuff) which was coloured black where very often given the epitet: Nigger-. Example: Nigger-candy for a candy that was coloured black. Black(instead of nigger) was actually considered to be a bad word back then.

personally, i'm not offended by it. i don't think the term nigger is just for black people anymore. I've seen my share of niggers of every race. So, as far as i'm concerned, if black people are still offended by the term, they need to get over it. And besides, IT'S JUST A WORD.

I think that if you want to post these vids in a new thread go for it! Theres plenty of bandwith and I know Id like to have a discussion about them! But since this is a jokes thread I guess the joke is why you felt it needed to add these videos here when they have nothing to do with the topic

In the part of the world I grew up in its ok to tell jokes and laught at them, but you just don't do it face-to-face with them? Until I joined a few other sites(and this) I wasn't even aware there was a concept of being offended and it seemed ridiculous to me when I heard about it.
Thought I know what "offended" means.

Personally, I don't think the videos deserved a thread of their own, and I kind of forgot the concept of being offended.

Well I can see the angle your coming from. I know how language can be used and shaped to fit any situation. Meanings of certain words have more of an impact in different parts of the country / world. Im not that familiar with your part of the world so you'll have to excuse me for getting "offended" by the last remark. On the same hand however. I would have thought that you read my earlier thread regarding that particular word.

Just for the record Im not offended by either commercial. I look at them for what they are, an attempt for people to make money. Its not much differnt then old menstral shows or "black face" shows in the early 20th century. In the US those kind of images and charachters showed a bright and dark side to the country. The dark side was the outward racism of mainstream media at that point and time. The bright side was the willingness for people to endure that racism to try to better themselves and as a result help enable people of all backgrounds.

Like I said though this should be a whole other thread topic/debate IMO...

Like it or not the term Nigger is offensive to black people and rightfully so. I won't give Neutral and infraction or edit his post because I really believe it's a cultural difference. BUT we are going to stop saying the word so openly. Sorry if some of you think that's too politically correct or w/e but it's not allowed here. I only left it up so everyone had a chance to comment on it.

There's still a good chance that one of the other mods will edit it out and give an infraction and that's thier right. I think this was a good chance to approach the subject and it being in this group it's less likely to offend many people(sorry smittycal if it did bug you more than you let on).

Go back on topic from here on out ok? Anymore use of the word will result in action. Btw I am editing part of those posts because they are offensive.

I hate having to change posts but it really was too offensive to leave up. PM me if you have any comments, we're done discussing it here.

You see that part I underlined Neutral? That means you know what you're doing is both wrong and offensive. I don't think its a cultural collision at all. In America most racists are too chicken shit to speak their views of a race to members of said race. They're only willing to speak their views to their buddies behind closed doors, cowards that they are.

Yeah, "We" might be cowards, but as I said actually it is not considered wrong and/or offensive as long as you don't do it face-to-face or direct it at someone, no matter what you say Tenser. That is how it works where I live. People here joke about black people, but they try not do it when they are around black people. I forgot that there was a cultural difference between most Swedish forums and most American forum, so I made a mistake:
Which happends to rip open a hell of a cultural difference, and it seems like the cultural collision is even greater then I though... Dang it.

This is what Tenser was talking about, you know it's wrong that's why you don't do it around black people. My joke earlier I've said around other races and they found it funny, because they knew the intention was harmless. Your post came off as very racist and offensive though. That being said I've been around people who are racist and I can understand how being raised that way would make it seem like it's not a big deal, but in reality it is.
