Makes more sense if you understand that pomme de terre, is french for Potato, and literally translated to apple of the earth.

But makes less sense when you take into consideration that the potato famine was in Ireland, and not scotland, which is where squall is from.

Indeed I knew that but I figured even Squall can't tell the difference between the two. Ireland, Scotland, they're all owned by England anyways...

correction, Ireland may be owned by England, but for all we care Englands on the other side of the world! Scotland have always hated England, as have most countries, and for proof of that: look at how many wars we've had with them. then when we go to France, they make guesses as to where we're from, and one of those guesses is England, and when we say we are not from England, we are from Scotland, they lighten up, they are positively delighted at that fact!

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Yes, the old man gets a year older, but not necessarily a year wiser. I'll still be trying to out game all ya'll until either arthritis or carpal tunnel sets in, and even then I'll will put a controller in my mouth to show you up.
