I would have to go with Japanese Animation over what we have here in the states. I see the potential here, sometimes but Japanese Anime has a long and proven track record. Most of the stories are involved and on point (Death Note comes to mind). Animation here is more of an off shoot of Hanna Barbara and Warner Bros, more comical than anything. There have been occasions when some artists come up with something more edgy (Heavy Metal is a good example) but most of the time, the product seems as though its trying to hard. Many times you will get just recreations or imitations of the Japanese Animation style. Overall, I again have to go with Japanese Anime as my favorite.
