2013? That was a while ago.

Kirby Super Star 3 comes around, but it is a critical failure! The game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, is forced to shut down Sora Ltd. as Nintendo is very bitter about this fumbling and will no longer publish their games. Sakurai becomes a drifter, taking only his samurai sword, wii mote, and wii mote samurai sword attachment. He travels North West, to Russia, and comes upon an unfathomable supply of oil buried deep in the land. A successful duel, for some reason, nets him ownership of all this oil and he is quick to sell it for a hella mula. He uses his profits to open another dev studio and directs Tetris 2: The Real One, a game popular for the fact that it uses blocks from various other games. So addictive is this game that the Russian government re-purposes it for mind control, somewhat successfully.

So there you go. Mind control. Bad.

I wish I could go back in time and study more.
