Path of Exile on Steam
It's completely free and it's supported by optional cosmetics and some storage expanders. It has a real skill tree that requires thought and has consequences if you screw it up. Compare to Diablo where you can choose your skills at any time and essentially every Monk/Barbarian/ect is the same except for what gear you're wearing. Some people love that but to me and lots of other people it's a deal breaker, turning things super casual.
The only possible roadblock for PoE is server latency. Because it's a small team and they're from New Zealand their servers tend to suck for a lot of people. I don't have much trouble but my connections speed is very good and stable. You'd wanna test it out before totally committing to it(but it's free so only time would be lost right?)
If you guys end up playing let me know and I'll invite you to the RU guild I made. It's pretty pathetic because I'm the only active member but I have a bunch of items/gems you can have to test things out.

Anyone here still playing?

I quit after beating the game twice and realizing it wasn't gonna get any better and that none of my choices mattered. Before I found PoE I thought Blizzard killed the genre by making it a casual console port.
