No Shave November

Haha, I know you have got to be 16 or 17 now, but I still always think of you as the 13 yr old lad that first starting posting here.

Yeah, haha time flies a bit I guess. Still hasn't really sunk in that I'm graduating this year.

I may participate. Never really let myself go more than a week and a bit without shaving (prefer the clean shaven feel), so I don't know how bad it can really get with a month.

In the majority (not all) of the US, facial hair is neither sexy (except for groomed stubble) nor professional.

It normally makes you be associated with rednecks, homeless, hippies, hipsters, psychos, etc.

I currently have the wolverine - mutton chops and reverse mohawk.

That must be some of that metrosexual talk. I prefer the line between groomed stubble and groomed sasquatch. Groomed is the key word. As long as the lines are kept neat, then it is all good. As for my beard, the lady likes it, thinks it's sexy, so that is why I have it.

To set the record straight. No Shave November is the practice of not shaving for the month of November. This is the more democractic practice as both males and females can participate.
The Movember thing is supposed to be grow and moustache for prostate cancer awareness, which to me, seems a little silly.

In my case, I shaved the beard for Halloween and was going to grow it back anyways, November is a convinent excuse and conversation piece.

I've associated with all but the homeless. Nothing against the homeless, I just don't have much in common with them besides the look of my beard.

I've never been accused of being a redneck but, yeah, about 4 of them. I usually have a beard though which proves my point.

Ah, but we weren't talking about males vs. females, we were talking about professional and social situations. So, thanks for telling me my opinion doesn't count.

And that link says they prefer hairy chests and backs. I've seen multiple studies that disagree with that.

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I'll never grow a full beard. I have always been clean-shaven, outside of a phase in high school when my beard was first coming in. It made me look like a drug dealer, so it had to go.

I live in the NW where most professionals are either rednecks or hippies in their spare time. I got an opportunity to travel when I was younger and I remember getting on a plane from Dallas to Portland and recognizing that these people did not look like the same as the people I had travelled with to Dallas. Even the Blazers billionare owner sports a beard at times.



For me, I can't grow a full beard as not much grows on my cheeks and if I went an entire month without shaving, I'd look rediculous.
