I picked up Cave Story, and got to try 3DLand first hand and it was very, very, very cool. I can only get out the stores after 5 tommorow and I just hope they arnt all sold out by then, this one is going to be very hard to get until sometime next year.

I feel it doesn't count because they had to reduce the price to just sell it and if I remember right the DS didn't have to do that. In a way I'd have an asterick if it gets top spot.

@Cam, havent played yet.

@Tails, every system in existance has boosted sales by dropping the price periodically throughout their lifespan, why would you only discount the 3DS?

First year sales of course. It's not really an accomplishment if they had to price reduce so quickly. At least imo.

It's good, good gameplay, good graphics, neat guns to collect. I find some of the level designs can be a little crowded, and I don't think the replay value is very high. I'd suggest trying to get your hands on 3D Land, but it's a good alternative if you can't.

@Tails, sales are sales, the price at any given time doesnt have anything to do with it. Do you think that it will have that asterisk till the end of it's production, or will it go away eventually?

I get the point Tails is making. Great sales figures aren't something to be proud of when you have to cut the cost of your product in half because of poor sales.

Well I really don't care if you guys think that it's a sham. After everyone going on and on about how the 3DS was a failure, or the 3DS is doomed, it's nice for them to prove everyone wrong.

Yeah maybe but that doesn't change the fact that the system wasn't doing well until a drastic measure propped it up. Either way this is old news and we're all well aware of it at this point. I was just posting because you seemed to be confused by why Tails would have any issues with it.

I do understand what you guys are saying, I just don't agree that it should have any bearing on the validity of the sales figures.

3DS is doing well now, which means more games in production, which means we who own it are in the clear for a good game selection on its way. That's the way I see it now.

Any news on the Free GBA games? they said later 2011, well were getting pretty late in 2011 now.

I managed to snag a copy of land. Woot!

Funny story, when I went to return Driver I knew they would'nt give me my money back without a good explanation as to why I was returning it after it had been opened. So what I said was that I did'nt have a 3DS and I was'nt aware there was a difference between the DS and 3DS, so he gave me my money back. Now when I went in to buy 3D Land the conversation went like this as we were walking from the glass case to the checkout:

clerk: "You do have a 3DS right?"
me: "Yeah."
clerck: "Okay, it's our new policy we have to ask, some people don't know what they have"
me: "Lol, idiots"
Clerk: "Lol, yeah."

TLDR: Because of me the Wal-Mart near my house needs to confirm that you have the appropriate system. Lulz.

Did anyone buy 3d Land? I want to try out the "join game" feature. The game came with a system update that puts this button on your friends list page, so I think the idea is that you just see what your friend is playing and hit the button to pop into his game.
For those who didnt get land the feature will be part of the next system update I believe.

I got it Essie. I put it in for like 5 minutes yesterday and played 1-1. I think we are already friends, so yeah, we could try that. It's true, when I put the cart in it made me do a system update. I didn't know what it was changing.

Probably wont be picking SM3DL up. There are too many other 3DS games I'd rather have.

It sounds like Nintendo is just bundling in system firmware updates in the game itself just like with the Wii.

It's an all around great game, if you like great games, then you would like it. It's the type of game that is impossible to say sucks. Doesnt matter if you hate the series, hate the genre, hate analog controls ect... ect.. there is no denying that this is a first rate production.
