What's bugging you?

This thread is a minor complaint department for everyday miffs, gripes, peeves, annoyances, and tick - offs.
Do you feel angry about something?

?
or perhaps
( Click to show/hide )
?

Air it out, get it off your chest.
Share your pain with us, that we may all grow stronger from the sharing.
We may not be able to come up with solutions here but at least you may find out if other people feel the same, and sometimes that makes me feel better.

TODAY'S installment should strike a chord with people who ride public transit regularly.

When I saw this video:
Yahoo News Canada - Latest News & Headlines

I thought how many times I'd been there myself and held my tongue {yeah I know, us Canadians} when all the while I was thinking something like:

Attachment 3131
{click on picture for larger image}

Oh, if only I were born an American I could unleash my fury more often .. .. it's frustrating, I tell you.

So, what's bugging you today?

very nice.
my gf's being moody and it's bugging me. but that's not much.
I also keep getting lost in Castlevania SotN and it's TICKING ME OFF HOLY CRAP. That is to say, I keep wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out where I haven't been.
yep. that's it for now

Everyone gets 'moody' from time to time; us Humans hold the trophy for moodiness - other animals have moods too but we seem the most affected by them.
Temperature, barometric pressure, moon phase, and even picking up on other peoples' 'vibes' can affect us.

Don't you get 'moody' sometimes? = I do, but thankfully it's not permanent.
{although my face does look like 'Tard' now}

You say Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has you frustrated?

Let me tell you a story about Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest » Nintendo :

I rented Simon's Quest with no instructions, and no Nintendo Power magazine to help me.
I wandered back and forth literally for days at a time trying to figure out where to go and what to do next.

With no clues {except the misleading ones provided by the townsfolk } I figured out the part where you kneel at the top of the stairs a few seconds to get them to load the bottom part of the screen and allow you into the lower levels, AND the legendary part where you have to have the red crystal held in your inventory while kneeling at the cliff face to make the tornado appear, taking you to the next part of the game.

I can't say whether this was more satisfying or frustrating, but the point is that if I could play under those conditions then I'm certain you will find your way in the much - better designed SOTN.

---------- Post added 10-15-2013 at 03:49 PM ---------- Previous post was 10-14-2013 at 03:02 PM ----------

What's bugging me today has to do with self - centered behavior of certain people, {and that could make a thread of its own so I'll narrow it down} specifically, smokers.

My beef is when smokers always {with very few exceptions} congregate near doorways of public buildings, as though they had a magnet in their ass preventing them from going any further to begin poisoning themselves - and here's the point - everyone else coming in or leaving must then breathe in their cancer - cloud.

NOW, I understand this may seem a silly concern for people living in places where smokers still have free reign to puff where they please; I feel for you if you are a non - smoker living in such a place.

'There was no problem until you opened your big mouth!'

seems to be the prevailing attitude in such places.
'Bitching about my smoking may be hazardous to YOUR health'
is another one I've heard.

But for me {along with a lot of other people who have respiratory issues, and even those who don't} I see it like this:
Non - smokers simply want to breathe relatively clean air.
Smokers make that nearly impossible.

If you want to commit slow suicide, that's your business.
See you in the cancer ward, followed by the Cemetery .
If you doubt what I say, I'll give you the e mails of my friends and family who smoke - oh sorry, I forgot = THEY'RE DEAD!

Today, I would like to complain about people who walk with their friends 3 or 4 {or more} abreast, taking up nearly the whole sidewalk.
I understand they may be holding a conversation and want to hear and be heard while speaking, but have some consideration for others.

Often times I get dirty looks from such groups as I stand on my half of the sidewalk waiting for the nearer members of their party to move over .. but their attitude {in general} seems as though I should get out of their way and stand on the curb until they pass.
Maybe they don't realize all I want is my 'lane' on the sidewalk or at least some small space so as to get by?

ONE time this happened with 3 males in their 20's and I thought a fight would break out as one of them reached out and pushed me out of the way {it took every ounce of my patience not to grasp his hand and flip him on his ass, by the way}, man, I was FUMING afterwords.
...
Thankfully that never happened to me again.

Building on this one

Kids who walk in the middle of the street as slowly as possible, then take their sweet time getting out of the way so I can pass in the car. Oh, and they give you dirty looks as well.

There are sidewalks, get on them. We should have free reign to run them down if they want to walk in the street.

Re: What's bugging you?

Anyone blocking the sidewalk like JG describes is being a douche intentionally or just has no respect for other people. I know when I'm in that situation I make room for people passing by, because I'm not a prick.

What gets me is people who stop their car at a red light and cover the entire crosswalk when I'm standing there waiting with a baby carriage. I'm kinda hard to miss and the baby should make me more sympathetic. I usually walk by their car and mean mug them as much as possible. I sometimes mutter curse words loud enough for them to hear them.

BH, you been playing GTA 5 lately?
Maybe you should to vent some of your frustration?

I understand what you're talking about though; I think a lot of that starts with the kids being told they're so 'special' from an early age - some begin to think they're like the Holy cows in India.
{here in Canada they can get away with literal murder, and the Law won't touch them, it's beyond belief}

WE used to get the crap beaten out of us {by everyone from parents to teachers, coaches, and even janitors}, and I'll tell you - we learned to respect our elders because of it!
I think maybe these kids could use a good kick to the arse to keep them in line as well.

You know, I think the people on the sidewalk may just be in their own little world and are oblivious to what's happening around them.
Not taking their side on this, just guessing.
It's still no excuse though.
I get out of the way, but then, I'm Canadian and can't help it.

The ones stopping their car blocking the crosswalk are probably the same: oblivious to what's going on as they're busy playing with their cell phones and whatnot - you see it even more when they enter the intersection and there's no room for them on the far side - so there they sit in the middle of the intersection, often long after the lights change, blocking traffic both ways!

They should have their license automatically revoked for doing that, in my opinion.
Sidewalk/ crosswalk blockers should get a heavy fine.

Re: What's bugging you?

I walk around town all the time and I am far from oblivious. The problem is the normal people go unnoticed, you remember the people who annoy you.

Where I live there's a really busy intersection and people consistently "get stuck" in the middle of the intersection because they try to get through even though it's obvious they won't because of the gridlock. It's always funny to watch the reactions of other cars now missing their green light because of the people blocking. One day someones gonna get hurt I bet.

'Tis the season to be coughing
{cuh cuh cuh cuh cuh, hack hack wheeze hack}

spreading germs while they're out shopping

They don't cover coughs or sneezes

Spreading flu and cold diseases

I have horrible study habits and stay awake all night because I waste so much time when I try to work on the computer. It's bothering me and I should really improve myself, but I'm frustrated at my lack of progress or change.

I found that distractions won over studying every time.

I think it's just a part of the way our brains work; as the left and right hemispheres of the brain 'trade places' so to speak, {this happens every twenty minutes or so on average - one side takes over to give the first one a rest, then they switch back after another twenty minutes} we have that moment of boredom/ distraction/ restlessness come over us, and that's when I would lose my concentration.

Maybe that's what's happening to you?

The fact that you're aware of the problem means that you're not that far gone.
There is still hope for you to turn it all around.

Re: What's bugging you?

I'll discussed other things as well but for now it just one problem.
What Bug me now is that I only got my PS3 around the beginning of December last year.(Pretty late to buy one I know).Anyway I had bought GTA V when it just came out a week later the system broke on me while I was playing it.I was 70 percent into the game I had to get another Hard Drive because it went bad all the sudden.So that mean I have to start ALL over again.Not only that but I was pretty much far in FFXIII close to the end and I even have the sequel which it's not even open. whats even more worse is that the 3rd series is coming out next year and I'm not in the mood putting 80 - 100 hours in both of them in total before Lightning Return comes out no way!

What Bug me now is that I only got my PS3 around the beginning of December last year.(Pretty late to buy one I know).Anyway I had bought GTA V when it just came out a week later the system broke on me while I was playing it.I was 70 percent into the game I had to get another Hard Drive because it went bad all the sudden.So that mean I have to start ALL over again.Not only that but I was pretty much far in FFXIII close to the end and I even have the sequel which it's not even open. whats even more worse is that the 3rd series is coming out next year and I'm not in the mood putting 80 - 100 hours in both of them in total before Lightning Return comes out no way!
... Wow, Mech, what you said about the PS3 confirms my suspicions of it being as poorly designed as the XBox with its legendary red rings of death.

Having to start out all over again is a bit frustrating, to say the least.

I've played a lot of poorly designed games {mostly on NES} where the controls were confusing, and so being made it possible to end your game unintentionally {worst case} or otherwise make game decisions you didn't intend to make, often times those decisions being of such consequence that it seemed easier to start over than to continue.

This same brand of confusing/ misleading controls continued right up into the GC/ PS2 era {I know nothing about the Xbox honestly, sorry} - anyone else know what I'm talking about?

REGARDING your lost game time, as a fan of the RPG's I feel your pain.
{those games are quite long compared with most others but the GTA series really draw you in too}

How I survived such tragedies was to shelf those games for a while {months, years, whatever it takes} until the pain subsides a bit and then give them another go after you're finished whatever you're playing in the meantime.

At least it was something I could fix.

Re: What's bugging you?

What's bugging me right now?

Had an interview last friday, went pretty well. Been waiting all week to hear back from it and never heard a peep.

Got a message from a friend who works for the company (who I got the interview through) asking me to phone him back ASAP.

So, I phone him. Apparently, they've been trying to phone me over the past two days. Except my phone had no missed calls. They had the correct number, my phone just wasn't receiving calls. Just what I needed right now!

I know, I know, that's why I said this at the end of the first post:

Yeah.
Did you see the first video?
It's tainted by newscaster babble but it's really good to watch.

Sounds like old man Coincidence played some part in this.

My guess is:
during those exact times this new job called for you, the sound of the phone ringing was drowned out by something else and you didn't hear it.
{even if that wasn't the case it's still a pretty good story, don't you think?}

I've had really awkward things happen at the start of a new job; one time the new boss came to pick me up in the morning, he rang the door bell and I leaped out of bed at lightning speed .. only to bash my leg on a table so hard I could taste the pain.

Luckily I didn't break it, and the job went Ok in the long term.
I hope you have similar fortune, but without bashing your leg.

By the way, I think I should add that I was fully dressed when I finally got to the door; the way I wrote it people may think I answered the door in my underwear!

.................................................. .................................................. ..............................................

TODAY what's bugging me is {I have to laugh at this myself} .. BUGS!
Specifically, these little guys:

{gotta love the title of this picture: wasp_sting_ouch }

Wasps have taken on the role of living alarm clocks for me, as I have woken up to the sound of their wings buzzing inside my room between the window and the curtain over the past few days.

This morning was the worst, 4 of them came in and so I carefully captured each in a large - mouthed plastic bottle {the trick is to put the opening over them on a flat surface, then wait for them to climb inside the bottle - then quickly put the lid on and close it tight!} which I then carefully put cold water into to flush them out into the toilet to get rid of them.

I taped up the window where I figured they were squeezing through from outside .. and so we'll see how well I did tomorrow morning, if they still get in or not.

Gross! I really can't stinging bugs. I can't really speak for Buck Bumble though, as I haven't played his game.

I guess the only thing really upsetting me today is my rotten League of Legends luck. But hey, if that's the worst I've got going on, things are pretty good.

Good to hear your chief complaint is about a game and not anything worse.
So you're playing LOL?

{sorry I couldn't resist}

Isn't that the online game DB posted the link to ages ago, where you play as a superhero of your own design?

Hmm, been a long long time but if I remember Proud Mode makes you play much more cautiously which got me in trouble after not having trouble on Normal.
