Analog control

I've got my Xarcade working on all games and thanks to a tip on these forums, I even figured out how to make my mouse work. But what I can't figure out is how to make analog controls work.

As an example, I've been playing Super Hang On. I'd like to be able to play this game using my Microsoft Sidewinder steering wheel but the only analog control I can get to work is using the mouse and I just can't play driving games using a mouse. I can map the analog control to none and it will recognize the steering wheels left and right control but that's no better than using buttons. I also tried a Logitech PS2 style controller and it recognizes all of the d pad and button controls but it does nothing when trying to map the analog stick to the analog controls.

Is this something I might be able to fix? Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Analog control

Thanks but that didn't help me out much.

Can I assume from your response that I'm the only one having this issue?

Just to be clear, even though I used an example, I'm not able to map analog controls for any game on any controler except for the mouse.

I thought mabye it was something that everyone has to deal with and there was an easy fix like using Shift/f5 to get the mouse to work.

Re: Analog control

Plug steering wheel in before you start the game.
Load game.
Press Tab.
Select Input (this Game). Instructions are very similar for Input (general).

In this particular game

Paddle Analog is the steering wheel. Select it and press enter or double click and then move your wheel either direction.

You would only use Paddle Analog Dec and Inc if you are using digital inputs like the keyboard. Set it to the left and right keys on your keyboard or to Nothing.

Peddle 1 Analog is the gas pedal. If you have another analog stick available you can set this, other wise set to nothing.

Peddle 1 Analog Inc and Dec are for the digital controls for the gas peddle if you are not using an analog stick. If you didn't set the previous one then set these.

And Peddle 2 is the break. Instructions are the same as the gas.

After you do that you should also adjust the "Analog Controls" from the tab menu. I set them all to their highest values.

Then press F5 to save your changes and reset the game.

Re: Analog control

Thanks. That seemed to work. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong as that's the same process I've used countless times in using MAME. I did have to turn the Paddle Reverse to on in the Analog settings or the gas pedal worked backwards and it still wigs out a bit if I ever hit the gas pedal when trying to map things. It starts scrolling with the only way to make it stop is to hit enter or excape back out.

And thanks for the tip about saving settings. I couldn't figure out why sometimes it saved and other times it didn't. Now I know
