Rumor: Starfox-Metroid crossover game

Rumor: Nintendo to Smash up Metroid and Star Fox for Wii U? from Side Mission Gaming News.

Im rather intrigued at the thought of Retro tossing this idea out. Im curious as to every one else's opinion about it

Well, asthetically the games are similar enough I guess, I'd be a bit suprised if it were true though, but could be super sweet if it is true and get's handled correctly. Not sure what "correctly" entitles though.

I'm kinda curious how they are going to get the two series together plot-wise.

the only thing i think would be weird is that they are talking animals meeting humans :/ then samus would think mario gave her some bad 'shrooms and then 42....

If they revamp the Starfox characters to fit the Metroid world I could see it being cool. If not it will be weird.

Sounds like it would be two different games that you switch between after each level.

then I'll be happy. I think that the combination of Samus and Slippy will be odd regardless of who gets changed, but I'm predicting that Star Fox will see some kind of change in style, given that it's been a while since anything new came about.

If game play wasn't concerned, I'd personally prefer the Metroid series that doesn't involve Samus looking like a Barby doll, and a Star Fox series where they all speak gibberish and only have voice acting at the end.

Lets get real here. Ninty is most likely setting itself up for a sales failure if this rumor is true. Neither Metroid nor Star Fox have the biggest fan bases and this title is probably only going to appeal to the few people who enjoy both franchises.

I know this game would have to be absolutely brilliant for me to purchase it.
