They'll probably make Dante overpowered to satisfy the rabid fanboys. I doubt many hardcore Marvel fans care about the games that much so the truly deserving characters will be half assed.
It's not that fighting games are going backwards, so much as it is they are going nowhere. Fighting games are the genre that has seen the least change since around 1992. Street Fighter II set the standard for 2D fighters, and 2D fighters haven't seen all that much change since then.
I meant how fighting games started to have full motion endings that made sense with voice. Now it's just chop up some lame artwork and throw on some text. I would expect this kind of thing on PS1, Capcom should be ashamed.

Now that ending would be fit for a marvel superhero.

That's just funny.
Notice how awesome those are? Capcom has no excuse.
They do but admittedly they're getting worse instead of better. Those two I linked were the best of the bunch imo. Some other ones were annoying and vague-

Look at Dissidia, that game had a great story
In your opinion it did. From what I've read about it it's pretty standard and predictable, like most FF stories recently. It's not like they had to try really, all the characters were already fleshed out.
No, I assume Dante will be ranked very high. But that's because he has had a large amount of
gameplay videos from the start and he seems to have some excelent combos.

They release a lot of gameplay videos of Dante because it's marketing. If they released videos of less hyped characters they'd get less intense reactions from fanboys who further circulate their preplanned marketing propaganda.
The bottomline is, it doesn't matter until the game is released.
