I think the word you were looking for is gimmick. Like lots of characters she's only in it to attract fans who would normally not buy the game.

re: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 discussion!
Im not sure if they were really innovative or not but the Giant characters n TvC were alot of fun actually. Teh simpler controls my sis can figure out was also a nice ad on I'll admit, though I honestly did better with my game cube controller. From what I can tell capcom games are Like the Koei Warriors franchise. The like ot do the same thing over and over, and as long as they keep doing it well, it will do well. In all honesty Street fighter, even with all its flash and hyper whatsits' is still mostly the same from Sf2 on snes. Like with games like Tetris, Each game usually tries t improve on something from the game before. Be it adding characters, modes, and moves.. to radically changing the game play and art style. Capcom foudn something amazing in teh street fighter franchise that, even today people are still getting the games, even if its mostly the same.. just flashier and prettier.
But then again, isn't the fact that It stays the same one of the things that's awesome about it? Hell ts why I still love the Koei games^^ and tetris... Games that have Stayed the same at the Main core and yet. ad little something to it that make you smile or want to play more.
you guys know what im talking about I mean right?

re: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 discussion!
That anti ragequit feature is cool, if it works. Making quitters play with each other is delicious karma.
I kinda prefer the new way Halo deals with it though, quit too many times and you can't join any online games for like 10 mins(increasingly longer the more you quit early). Sometimes a harsher punishment is needed to prevent it. With Capcoms feature the quitters still get to play so they might not learn the lesson.

Yeah, but who cares? With time they'll only bother each other, while leaving the serious gamers play with each other.

But still it's like making special room for them, it's not really a punishment. Making it so they can't play for increasing increments is much more satisfying.

They are paying customers and I think this is a better alternative. Like SJB stated, Halo still allows for quitters to play with the non-quitters and that's far worse for the vast majority of people.

One upside to Halos method is many of the habitual quitters get so annoyed with the game they stop playing it.
Maybe I'm just vindictive but I prefer a method that really gives it to them. Quitting once in a while is fine and you don't notice this. People who quit when they hate a map or game type get punished for consistently ruining games for other players. Halo locks in the players for the round, no one else can join and balance the teams. One or two people quitting can be game breaking and it happens constantly.
I do remember hearing about Capcom being on point about their online too. I haven't played SF online much but people I know love it.

re: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 discussion!
@ DB: I guess the difference is that in Halo you're quitting affects all members of your team. In a fighting game, it's just two players pitted against each other. If you bail out, it's only going to affect your score and the other can simply use you as practice and beef up their stats at the same time.

Wow how exciting, the exact same outfit Akuma has worn in pretty much every game he's been in!

Akuma? Really? Let's use the most overpowered Ryu-clone instead of the only interesting one, Dan.

re: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 discussion!
As a shoto player, I honestly believe if they had to pick a second one it should have been Gouken.
He's the most different among all of them.
Ken would be a better choice than Akuma.
Edit:
It's times like this that I wish the Punisher was in this game, the guy killed
everyone all by himself in a comic:
He even killed the entire X-Men by Nuking them.

re: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 discussion!
Why would Ken be better? I don't play those clones much but I thought Ken was just slightly different like a flaming dragon punch and maybe a little stronger? Akuma has a few moves that Ryu and Ken don't have, that much is obvious. Gouken is also different but he's not a household name like Akuma. I mean really, Akuma is the badass character from Street Fighter. Others are awesome and stuff but Akuma is iconic.
That pic is cool but Punisher wouldn't be able to kill someone like Wolverine or Hulk.
