While we're talking about it, Howard the Duck has a cult following even if most people haven't heard of him. It's also a smart move to add him to spark some curiousity. He may be ridiculous and annoying but he's a household name, more so than Frank West. I bet most of our parents have heard of Howard the Duck, the same cannot be said for West, right?

Capcom of Japan themselves said that Frank is extremely popular, so they decided
to put him in as many games as possible. So I'm taking Capcom's word for it.

And I wouldn't be suprised if he was more popular than Megaman in the US, I
mean, in Japan where he's much more popular, Amaterasu was rated higher than
Megaman in Famitsu magazine, and Dante was right behind Megaman.

(Famitsu is the most read Japanese Magazine)

But that's Japan, I honestly stand my ground that Frank may be the most popular
character in the United States, I don't think Megaman has that much of a following
anymore unfortunately, I bet Dante and Ryu are more popular than Megaman in
the US too.

It may be hard to believe, but Frank, Dante, and Phoenix Wright are pretty much
the flagstaffs of Capcom in the modern age.

If Frank West really is the most popular Capcom character then that's pretty sad considering how many games all the other, more deserving characters, have been in over the years. Lame character is lamer the more you talk about him.

I think it's because of how awesome he is, not his character.

Frank has done some insane things for an average joe, he can shoot a helicopter
down with just a golf ball. Think about how strong one would have to be to do that.

Well I just did an experiment. I asked my daughter and her friends (about 4 girls and 3 guys) If they knew who Frank West was and only 1 of the boys knew. I then asked them if they knew who Mega Man was, and not only did they all know, they asked me which Mega Man did I mean.

I honestly believe Frank West has not been around long enough to be considered more popular than Mega Man.

He hasn't been around long and he's only been in one actual game as a main character. He is nothing compared to characters like MM or RYU.

I didnt know that about Strider. Although Im not completely stoked about Frank West since hes overhyped, I really want Venom in it, and M. Bison would be cool to have too.

Have you seen any of the lists created by Famitsu?
It's obvious they have been bought off by Capcom and Konami, thus I don't see them as trustworthy.

It doesn't seem that way to me on this list.
Simon Belmont would be on it if that was the case.

They are supposedly hard critics, but almost every game by Capcom or Konami gets an impossibly high score, case-in-point: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

I think that review is biased because it had Famitsu magazines in game.

Because Famitsu promised them good press if they included Famitsu magazines.
Why did Famitsu promise Konami good press for having the magazines in game?
Because Konami promised to give Famitsu an advertisement for Famitsu's good press.
It's pretty obvious that they were working together to get each other more press and therefore more money.

What system are you getting MvC3 for James? Im most likely getting it for PS3 since I have a Playstation Network account. Ill be playing MvC3 a lot probably online. Looking to beat up on noobs who pick the "best" characters

lol, Im decent at fighters is what Im saying. And after a week or two of not playing and your not totally used to the controls and have to adjust again, the people really kick your butt. Ive learned that on DBZ: Raging Blast

Even if you're not at the same level, I'm sure we could all set up a nice multiplayer match between all the PS3 users on RU.
