Played: 4 times

On the games menu it says example (played:4 times) does this mean the game has only been played that many times or beaten that many times? I have been playing some games on here (just joined today) and I noticed that the number does not go up after I quit playing the game. I was just wondering.

The play count was reset to zero about a month ago.

The play count for the high score enabled games only goes up if you submit a score.

The play count for the other games only goes up if you reload the page. If you play the game and die and start over it will only count the first game loaded - not starting over.

If you load the game from cache then it will not count. That means once you play a game your computer might try to store the game in your temp folder. If that is the case then the next time you play it will be loaded from your cache (temp folder) and not from the server and so the play count will not change.

The play count is not instantaneously updated. It updates every couple hours so as to save server resources. So if a game is played once a minute for an hour then the play count will not go up by one every minute but instead will go up by 120 every two hours.
