Wolfman's tag team contest III ideas

I am going to setup a third tag team contest the date of the contest will be to be annouced. You pick your partner but if you can't find a partner, the people that signed up without a partner will be randomly partnered with other people that didn't pick a partner.

The prizes for the contest will be
1st place team $60 worth of steam games each
2nd place team $30 worth of steam games each
3rd place team $15 worth of steam games each

All 2 of the games must work in score mode and have a scoring system. The game you choose must be a game that allows score competition here.
You must post all 2 games at the same time.
You can not post a exact same game that has already been posted. You may use the same game for a different system.
You can not have first place in any of the games that you pick.
If you miss the deadline then you can not enter this contest.
Each of those games will be called a flag. If 10 team enter then there will be 20 flags.
Each team's 2 games will be called a set of flags.
If you have first place in a game then you have captured that flag.
Points will be tallied at the end of the month
Points:
1 point for each flag you have control of.
2 bonus points for each of your own flags you control.
10 bonus points for each set of flags you control - taking all 2 flags from a single person.
5 additional bonus points if you control your own set of 2.
If there is a tie for first place in a game then no one gets credit for controlling the flag. No points will be awarded for that game.
If someone not entered in this contest has first place in a game
then no one gets credit for controlling the flag. No points will be awarded for that game.
Whoever has the most flag points wins.
If there is a tie then we will go to sudden death.

One round is 3 days. Every 3 days a random game will be randomly selected.

Rounds will start and end at midnight GMT.

The best score submitted in those three days will win 3 points for his team. Second place will get 2 points for his team and 3rd place will get 1 point.

If your score is not only the highest score during the round but also the highest score ever then your team will receive 3 bonus points.

The team with the most points at the end of the month wins.

Initial Setup

Each team will nominate two games (any system). Each team captain will then PM me their team's nominations. Any game specific requirements should be included with the nominations (see below).

Nominations are due by 1st day of the month. When all nominations have been submitted I will then post all game nominations in this thread. The contest will begin immediately after all the nominations have been posted.


Object

The first team to post proof of completing all games (including meeting all requirements) wins.


Blanket Contest Rules

1. When a team finishes all two nominations from another team (not their own nominations) the team that finished all two nominations may pick one game that has not been finished by the nominating team. The nominating team must then delete any and all save data from the chosen game and start again from scratch.

Example: MM has just finished all three of VB's own game nominations. MM may now pick one game from the entire list of all games that VB has not already submitted proof of completing yet. VB must then remove any data from that game (if any) and start that challenge from the start.

4. You may not use any save data acquired before the beginning of the contest.


Specific Game Requirements

Specific game requirements may be added by the team that nominates a game. Such requirements may include beating a fighting game with all players or getting a specific ending to a game with multiple endings. Teams are encouraged to be very specific about what constitutes a win.

Specific game requirements may not include requirements that will not affect the game's ending such as beating A Link to the Past without the Magic Cape.

Any grey areas will be decided between myself. If I can't come to an solution or there is a conflict of interest all teams may be asked to weigh in.

This contest is similar to the recent Team contest with a few twists. The biggest that it is open to anyone, not just teams.

To play you must find a partner and sign up as a two player team. Try to come up with a name for your team to make it more fun and easy for me to make the brackets instand type every players' name.

The deadline to sign up is 11/12/2010.

I will randomly create the brackets using dice rolls in chat at 11/12/2010.

The contest will start at 11/15/2010.

Each round will be 48 hours long.

Each round will begin with me choosing two random games in Chat.

One player from each team will play the first game, the other player plays the second game.

After 48 hours their scores are combined.

The highest combined score will proceed to the next bracket.

It is double elimination so the lowest score goes to the loser's bracket where they will have one more chance.

I will choose the games at the same time, anywhere from 1 am to 3 am, every two days. If 51% of the teams in chat at that time want to choose a new game, then we will.

If a game with reverse scoring (golf style score) is picked then we will automatically choose a new game.

If a game does not work or submit scores correctly then we will choose a new game.

If there is an odd number of teams then one will be given a bye. The team will be randomly selected with a dice roll when creating the brackets.

Do not cheat.

after the round robin teams are seeded based on their overall records from the round robin.

Each round will be 120 hours long.

Each round will begin with me choosing five random games in Chat.

both players from each team will play all five games.

After 120 hours their scores are combined in each game and the team with the most wins advances and the team with the most losses will go in the loser's bracket.

I will choose the games at the same time, anywhere from 12 am to 3 am, every five days. If 51% of the teams in chat at that time want to choose a new game, then we will.

- The length of play will be a period of 3 days.

- There will be 10 consecutive game periods played that will make up one season.

- The games we play will be decided by a random unless there is a problem with the game.

The contest will last the month the team with the most points wins the contest.

A team will pick one game that they are not number one in and the teams will compete for the score, the team that get the high score first will try to keep the score for that game once they lose it the team that took it away will pick another game to play.

The scoring is by the amount of mins the team holds their score, and the way to score is the highest score by player not the team combined. the contest will last the month.

If a game last 3 days a new game will be picked by the team that held on to the score.
