i'm personally going to wait until later in the year. i had my fun with some stuff, but there's just way too much room for the scores to move. wether I play them now or later, the same amount of time will have passed and the people who get large scores are still going to get large scores.

LOL....thx for the vote of confidence...but there are some great gamers here...and early in year where others are likely to start up playing these games soon.

There are a handful of games in the list that just aren't up my alley...one of those scrolling fighting games...that quiz game(makes me feel really stupid actually), couple shooters that I am decent at but definitely many here better than me on those. There are a few on the list though that do suit me well though. :P

I saw TRB_Metroidteam(think his name was Volter or something like that..so sorry I can't remember your exact name..been years since we corresponded.) has entered in now...very fierce competitor I have known from MARP from past years.

Others are here like George Strain that is one to seriously watch out for but hasn't been playing much yet...

once spring then summer weather hits I likely wont be playing as often as I have been the past few weeks..crappy weather and currently poor(both cars needed repairs this month, furnace...got to get new refrigator this weekend etc.) so little to do but stay home and play games. :P

I mostly have just been having fun playing various games again since joining retrouprising.com.

TBH I think this is a good thing. It wouldnt be fun for us if every game suited you, nor would it be fun for you if none of them did.

Quiz & Dragons is hard. If I have no idea then I guess at quickly as possible. Some runs I have gotten 0. But have had a couple of lucky runs up to 100k with only knowing 1 or 2

whoa, you finished the race? nice....

does it get past that congrats screen to where you sign your initials? the screenshot you want to submit is the initials page. the congrats screen gets you the "cleared" though which you got.

I actually cleared it twice. The first time the score was too low so I just submitted the end for the mastery credit.

I beat it again later and just screen grabbed after I finished the race with the score visible. You can see it in the view all scores section, says it's still pending approval.

There is still room for a better score, I've seen the WR at either 5.9 million or 7 million depending on where you look.

definitely...I have had some awesome runs going but then to mess up on spain or the one after that then reset.

monaco still is my big weakness though...more than half of my games ending on that race as I crash then reset. :P

I had 1 game..no idea how though...where I was down to #12 rank yet failed to finish the race in time...was the get #20 to qualify....I raced that course well..yet still was 1000 feet or so from the finish line. think that particular race must be even when you run it clean you maybe are coasting in or have less than 1 second left.

Didn't take long for Razeluxe to beat my score again.

Yeah, there are a couple courses where even if you run perfectly you'll finish with 2 seconds or less on the clock it seems.

The key I have for Monaco is to get as many positions as you can before that race, then just drive very cautiously through the chicanes. I usually gain very few positions in that race which probably costs me points but I can't get more points if I don't finish so it's a tradeoff.

i think the home page top 5 is a great idea. nice one Barra.
a whole year is a hell of a long time for a competition.
i have never played almost all of them, never had the systems. i will have a crack, see what happens. so far i cannot use controls in alien and circus driving game. anyone else had those issues?

A year is what makes it so great. Should not be any excuse by anyone and there should be some awesome scores put up (in fact there already is!!)

no issues here.

you always can hit TAB key and check the input (this game) settings to see what the controls are...maybe they are out of whack for you and you just need to reset them.

I just use my left/right arrow keys for steering and "Z" for gas pedal and "C" for gear change...which are all the defaults I think. perhaps you changed them from that in another game which would carry over into this one if you changed the general settings versus the "this game" settings.

Well Razeluxe and I duked it out on Continental Circus for a while until a score was put up I don't think I can beat.

Now Gastrainga goes and beats my Quiz & Dragons score again. I guess I have a new person to duel with...
