Crap. I was hoping that my choices would be narrowed down to Mr. Dean and another. The only famous movie that I know of that he was in was "A Streetcar Named Desire" and I believe he met his untimely demise before 1960.

This is an educated guess. I believe Mr. Olivier did most of his work in the 40's and 50's and Mr. Douglas would have been towards the beginning of his career in 1960. Spartacus would have likely required a younger person to play the role since I am somewhat familiar with the story.

Here goes nothing. My answer is A. Kirk Douglas. Final answer.
