ESPN isn't my thing, but he was one of the good ones.

Re: dead celebrities
He's a celebrity? How many people outside of the middle east even knew his name before he died?

I've never heard of him, but that doesn't discount him as a celebrity.

Re: dead celebrities
I don't mean to criticize SJB for posting about this I just think he's not really a celebrity. The family consists of a few thousand members and he's just one that was born in the right order to be king. On top of that he ruled a country that has some of the more repressive policies in the middle east, and that's saying a lot. I can't see how anyone likes him to be honest. He's not famous, he's infamous. At least imo.

Either way, he was a very well known individual who passed away and fits the thread in my opinion.

I'm not trying to say the post should be moved or anything I'm just disputing his celebrity status. Are all royals automatically celebrities?

We'd need to define our threads definition of celebrity. I'd say it simply based on recognition, hitler would be considered a celebrity imo. It's not about reputation, it's about weither or not people know who it is, in combination with their importance. For example who ever invented cheese whiz could be included. This is all just for this thread of course.

Sad news. A really great animator and I've heard great things about him as a person. Seemed like a really hard working, generous guy. Really young too. RIP Monty Oum.

Here's the first episode. This series is pretty much Monty's best work.
