It's not really fair to compare the two since there is such a difference in risk and dedication. Also ProWrestling is known to be full of steroid freaks, the UFC is not. Steroids can really damage a person over time.

not to mention a ufc fighter fights 2-3 times a year, they have tons of time to fully recover, a wrestler has to go out there night after night, sometimes 2 times a day anything short of a broken bone (arm, leg, back or neck basically) or a majorly torn muscle and they gotta wrestle.

Yeah there's that to consider too. Wrestlers perform a lot more but they are still stuntmen and they never intend to get hurt, or hurt the other performers. UFC fighters fight for real and they aim to either knock a person out or hurt them enough to stop the fight. Naturally they'll need more time to recover.
I'm not trying to make light of wrestling honestly, I just don't think it's a good comparison. If someone said Boxing vs WWE they'd be laughed at right?

i just think that there is a misconception, people think that just because the fights are staged, that they dont get hurt. when a wrestler takes a chair shot, he TAKES a chair shot.
this was brutal, the rock shoulda been fired.

He should've been fired? Are you joking? If anything I bet McMahon was fully behind this skit and they practiced it several times before airtime. Mick Foley prides himself on this kind of thing, I bet he loved it.

Also I really don't think those chairs are the same ones you or I would buy. They look real enough but they are props designed to look good while not killing the performers.

They all get hurt but like I said they never intend to deal lasting damage, they're stuntmen.

those chairs are not props, those chairs are real, and mick foley was pissed about this i talked to him personally about this incident and he told me that it was supposed to be 2-3 shots. when i met him he told me he couldnt bend down to pick up his kids.

Sorry but I really doubt those chairs are the same kind normal people buy. Maybe they start out that way but I'm sure they do things to them to make them hurt less. If I hit someone over the head with a real steel chair they'd be out like a light or dead.

Btw when you met Mick Foley was it something personal and/or intimate or was this a fan meet and greet? I ask because it makes a difference, in one scenario he might be playing up his character and the other it might be more believable. Either way I don't feel bad for him since he chose this as his career. He didn't have to jump of cages into fire laced barbed wire.

funny story actually: he came to my home town at a car show for a book signing, and my buddy who is sickly obsessed with wresling showed up at 4 am the night before, i showed up about an hour before the signing. word got back to mick that a fan had been there since 4 am and he said to go get the fan. so my buddy doesnt know whats going on and asks me to save his spot, as security opens the gate i slip into first in line and my buddy goes off. a few minutes pass and i guess my buddy asked if i could come too, so they come and get me. I end up stealing the show with mick back stage, in the photo hes giving me a headlock and about to give me the mandible claw as my buddy is just kinda standing off to the side. also my buddy had books, posters, action figures you name it for mick to sign, and i had i burnt copy of smackdown for the playstaion, mick thought that was really funny.

as far as the chair shots go, they are real chairs, they are probably alot lighter than the heavy duty ones your probably thinking of. and the wrestles are of course trained to give and receive them, but none the less, the are still getting hit in the head with the chairs.

Yeah I understand that they are still being hit with stuff but the fact remains that it's all just a glitzy stunt show with highly trained athletes. It's not comparable to real sports like UFC and Boxing. That was all I'm trying to say here. I'm not trying to discredit what these guys do by any means.

Yeah, really sorry to hear about Chris Henry. What a stupid and freakish way to go. I hope Cincin can maintain their focus. I know I talk a lot of smack because they're divisional rivals but I'll be rooting for them in the playoffs. I'd rather the championship stay in our division. AFC North doesn't get the respect it deserves.

I would guess I've never seen anything Ms. Murphy has starred in because I don't recognize her face.

That game yesterday vs the Chargers was so awesome to watch, good game played by both!

My friend loves King of the Hill, so she will be shocked by this death as well.

RIP Ms. Murphy and Henry.

She was in Sin City and Don't Say a Word, but I don't know if you saw either of those. For those who like these kinds of movies, I think she was also in Clueless back on the day.

Yep. I love that movie. She played Shellie who was the girlfriend of Dwight (Clive Owen's character). She was the one who was always calling him Superman and was in her panties almost the whole segment, or maybe that's just me remembering it that way. (Either way I remember it being nice.) She really was a good actress. I will miss the off beat roles she played. Too bad. She was just a youngling.
