Re: NFL thread
The QB has the final say on something like that or is different for each team? How come the equipment manager(or whoever they got on camera) didn't get in trouble too? Brady didn't put a gun to his head, in fact it sounds like he was happy to do it.

Re: NFL
So it's been about a month and a half since Tom Brady's appeal of his suspension, and Goodell hasn't made a decision one way or another. two weeks back he said a decision was coming, then earlier this week he said there isn't a timetable. I think he's stalling to ensure Brady serves his suspension, and it doesnt help the Colts and Ravens' owners both are calling for a longer suspension instead of overturning it

Re: NFL
I don't. NFL's already got too many credibility issues as an organization, and if Brady did indeed prove he didn't do it and they ignore it to ban him for the season, that would make it worse

Re: NFL
Just because he refused doesn't make him guilty. For all we know he could have very personal texts from Gisele or someone else he wouldn't want Wells to try and manipulate to make him look guilty

While that's true it still hampers the investigation. Think about it every investigation does this why is Brady special to avoid it?

Re: NFL
Think of how bad a precedent it would be if Brady turned over his cell phone. It would set up for the NFL demanding everybody and their brother's cell phone for each incident that went bad. It's one of those damned if they do, damned if they don't situations. I mean Ted Wells does have a reputation (a bad one at that) of manipulating things out of context and twisting them for his own purposes. Picture what he could do if he had Brady's phone
Plus if they really thought Brady was guilty, instead of circumventing their own rules wouldn't they have let an independant arbitrator oversee the process, not Goodell?

It's the same thing for everyone imo. If you are accused you should cooperate instead of refusing. It makes you look guilty.
Goodell is the nfl commissioner right? It's his job to do that just as Manfred had the ability to rule for Pete rose.

Re: NFL
Goodell is the commissioner, yes. But the current CBA has a clause in it that states that the Commissioner was not allowed to oversee the process of appeal if he dished out any suspensions. Instead he had Troy Vincent, VP of Football Operations do it so he could circumvent the clause

Re: NFL
So apparently things have gotten a lot more interesting, as allegedly Stephen A Smith of ESPN has "heard" that Brady destroyed his phone and will lose his appeal. I find it dubious at best since he has had a history of controversy around him

In other news, Bruce Arians and the Cards hired the very first female coach in NFL history recently. Good sign of progress, yet i still have concerns there'll be plenty of sexual harassment

Tom Brady and the nfl were close to a 1 game suspension settlement but Brady wanted the records sealed. Such a cheat.

Jed York is only 35."
