Maybe Wolverine is so popular because he's an awesome character? He was created because they wanted to make a cool Canadian super hero. I assume he became popular because he's interesting and a complete badass. It only makes sense to showcase him when the majority of your fans love him right?

I have no idea who that character is. From the look of him I'd guess he's one of those characters created to get kids into comics, is he from a TV show?
That being said I'm sure DC is jealous of Marvel, but not for that guy. DC has some of the corniest characters ever created in comics. That's my opinion but I'm sure most people would agree with me.

That was Ant Man one of your "great" production.

Corniest characters? Some of Marvels movies have been really corny. Superman IV and Batman & Robin might be bad. But Daredevil and Hulk are just plain awful.

Oh come on now are you getting defensive about this? I can find tons of Marvel characters that suck but they aren't mainstream like Superman or Wonderwoman. My point is DC only has one character that I can think of who isn't corny, Batman. Well, that's if you don't count the Adam West version. From my perspective DC is mainly old school corny characters whos names almost always end in man because the writers have no creativity.

I'm not going to debate which movies are more full of fail. When I talk about characters I mean the comic book versions. Movies and TV shows are well known for how they butcher the established storylines and characters. To me they don't count techincally, they're just fluff for casual fans.
That being said I think it's safe to say that Hulk and DareDevil are miles better than that steaming pile of a movie they called Superman recently. What other good DC movies come out recently? Oh yeah, Batman, their only good character

Either way you should lighten up. We're just talking about fictional characters here.

I would totally agree with that. Seriously, Superman has like every super-power imaginable which makes him far less interesting because he shouldn't ever be beaten, but oh wait he's allergic to a freaking green rock! Now that's not to say that all of them are bad, I happen to think that Batman and the villians he squares off against are some of the best bad guys out there. But seriously, Aqua-Man, really? You can't get worse than that!

Ok, so Howard the Duck is pretty bad, but remember that he is not one of the mainstream comics from the Marvel franchise. Aqua-Man and Superman are what DC comics really push out the door, Howard the Duck is not on Marvel's "A-List." Case in point, the ridiculous and corniest of Marvel comics heros and villians are probably on the bottom of the totem pole of importance, unlike DC comics where thats pretty much all they know and publish.

Let me ask you this question. Why is Marvel taking so long to clean up a mess it should have cleaned ages ago? The whole simultaneous universe idea died with DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths. DC is working the whole Blackest Night storyline in ways Marvel never could. DC is not the slowest to change. Marvel is. This is what makes DC a fine company in its own right. Coupled with the fact Marvel just got bought up and DC didn't tells you who the sinking ship really was.

It wasn't like Marvel was going under or anything, Disney wouldn't have bought them if they didn't have anything going for them. It wasn't a cheap buy either 4.24 billion dollars is how much Disney paid to get Marvel. (While I'm sure someone will point out that my source of my quote comes from wikipedia and how information is sometimes faulty from there I'll also argue that on DC Comic's wiki page there is no where that says that they are the world's largest publisher of comic books. They're not denying that they've been beated by the better Marvel Comics. So this isn't a he said/she said arguement.)

Surpassing? I don't think so. Marvel hasn't yet produced a miniseries on the order of Final Crisis. Secondly, if Marvel had surpassed DC, DC's not showing a decrease in readers. Normally, the competition between them would tell in the numbers of readers. Even if you are right, it's not by much. DC consolidated its characters in one universe so it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm not sure what a miniseries has anything to do with this. pretty sure if all the characters are lame and cheesy than the series will fail too. marvel doesn't have to put all their eggs in one basket for a miniseries, they have a lot more going for them than super friends b.s.

Here's the problem with the statement AK Bullet Storm. Most of DC's characters couldn't be considered cheesy by any standards. one case in point is the Green Lantern. Name 1 marvel character who has the same power as GL.

you're correct, no marvel character has the same power as GL. that doesn't mean its a good thing though, i think GL is lame. he wears a little ring that gives him powers like forming a giant baseball bat to hit his opponents with? tell me that's not cheesy. surprised his ring wasn't one of the ones that help form Captain Planet.

Okay, but who has the Spectre's exact powers? No one. Marvel may have Wolverine and DC doesn't have a character like him, but Marvel could never get away with creating characters similar to any of DC's characters. Copyright laws would be enforced for both sides.

How about Deadpool and Deathstroke? DC made there's first but they never tried to stop Marvel from making Deadpool. Kind of funny how Deadpool is arguably more popular even though DC had a huge head start.

Btw AK Bullet Storm is right, Green Latern is one of the corniest DC characters. In the future you might wanna find a better example.

I have a friend who's obsessed with GL. He bought a GL ring online for like 200$(or so he said). Either way he used to wear it everywhere, including work. I loled at him often.

Dude, from here on out, I have one name for you that is cheesier than GL and he's supposed to be that way: Mxyzptlk. Try pronouncing that. Secondly, if you hadn't noticed, the Green Lantern may appear to be corny, but you try fighting the legions of undead Black Lanterns and survive. Corny or not GL takes his job seriously, something only Deathstroke shares. Finally, if you hadn't already noticed, DC does not have a character similar to Deadpool. This is why Marvel could create him.

Maybe you're in denial but the rest of the world can see the obvious similarities between Deathstroke and Deadpool(There names are Slade Wilson and Wade Wilson btw). Hell they even had a cross over encounter because of that comparison. Yes they're not 100% the same but it's close enough.

I can tell you care about this a lot more than I do. You may not see it but DC is seen as old school and corny by a lot of people. We won't agree on this so it's pointless to go back and forth. I'm glad you enjoy it though.
