why? if you born there you are russian you may like it or not but you are still russian
also if you live there since 3 years you officialy have american nationality
in that case you just have double-nationality wich means more adventages for you ( you can request a european passaport and travel all around europe)

i dont see the problem there

I just think it's stupid to call someone who's obviously not russian, a russian(in this example). Someone who's born in russia and lives there the entire time is gonna be a lot different than someone who was born there and moved soon after.
I understand legally people are labeled by where they are physically born but it just seems silly to me.

Btw I understood what you meant about dual citizenship. The problem is some countries don't recognize it and then the system breaks down. For example in Iran you are always an Iranian citizen. It doesn't matter where move and for how long. It's a bad example because they're crazy but it makes my point either way.

I think you are from where you grew up, not born. I think your accent is a good judge. If you have a Russian accent or only speak Russian then you are Russian. If you were born in Russia but sound like Keanu Reeves then you are American.

Born and raised in Sweden, but I'm part Russian, part Wallonian and part Scottish, and it actually makes sences if you look at a map. Father is from the southern parts of Sweden, so its closer to Scottland and Wallonia. Mother is from the northen parts, so it is closer to Russia if you skip Finland.

A lot of the time you could say America as in North and South America combined but people may assume you mean the United States. Maybe Europe should have a country called Yerep.

The way I see it:
