What are the bonuses that you get for completing the bonus stages?

4mil per bonus stage completion. Not sure if theres a final bonus stage or any way of "completing" the game as such.

Yes. All bonuses are at 4 mil per as Barra noted. There has not been any variation to this bump yet.

While all bonus stages are essentially the same, I suspect there may be an end to this game as the last bonus stage I saw (and was not able to complete) appeared to be a bit more complex than the others. On the other hand, the game could also possibly go on forever and was just adding a layer of complexity.

Has anyone played the first Dragon's Fury? Was there an ending on the first game of the series?

Play full mode and put the stage 6 cheat in. I did it but couldnt even get to a bonus stage :/
Maybe if you complete one, it will take you to the final boss or something?

Completing the bonus stages are mandatory for a big score.

Each bonus stage is worth 4mil. Each bonus stage gives you a multiplier ball so I assume if you complete 2 stages quickly back to back you might get 8 or 12 mil for the second.

Patience is key. Hold your flippers up to catch the ball. Then aim and release at optimal time.

Each time you complete a bonus stage then repeat it a little extra complexity is added to it. I wouldn't be too surprised if there was an ending but I would guess it would probably come after 1 or 200 million points.

Getting the 3 small center crystals to all be light blue gives you an extra ball.

Kong's post is on target. This game is all about patience and ball control. It's not an immediate gratification type of game.

I was not aware of the crystals/extra ball thing.

You'll receive an extra ball for each completed bonus round.

Other than the individual 4 mil bonus rounds, I've not noted any other approach to accumulate points of any significance.

I'm not sure what impact the floating head has (or how to activate it). Relating to the floating head, a floating crystal appears as well too. I suspect that just running over the crystals in the center board controls these things but have not been able to determine anything conclusive.

I'm not sure what the hearts on the left give the player.

As for the multiplier, I'm not too sure how this works either. The most I've ever bumped this up to was 3x I think (the game board implies you could get this up to 8x). I do think the multiplier starts to activate after a completed bonus stage, though to the best of my knowledge, I've never received more than 4 mil ever on a single completed bonus stage, with or without the multiplier. The multiplier may possibly be for non bonus stage points accumulated only. Once a ball sinks, the multiplier always resets.

As for the ending, the last bonus stage I played just had that end game feel to it. I'm aware that this is far less than a conclusive statement, yet I'm holding firm to the feeling (for now at least).

You can try to keep the ball in the top right corner. This is a slow and tedious technique but it is fairly safe and easy and can give you a few million if you have the patience.

Three light blue crystals activate it. You change the colors of the crystals by running over them. Then the head follows you for a few seconds and drops a crystal. Hit the dropped crystal for an extra ball.

I activated them all once but not sure what happened. Dropping all the way down the left gives you a stopper below the bottom flippers which offers a lot of protection.

If you get halway through a bonus round you get a 2x ball. If you complete the bonus round you get a 3x. I think that is separate from the board multipliers. If you lose the ball in the side gutters you activate the board multipliers. Not sure if they do anything else or not. In Devil's Crush they did so I kind of think the multipliers have some other significance that I haven't figured out yet.

This would be best explained via a video capture of the bonus rounds in question, though I'm not able to provide these. There are two examples within the verified score capture. They will be very near the end of the video. I recall doing fairly well on one round, and less so on the other.

To the best of my recollection (I've not watched the clip): you're in the dragon's mouth and must first knock out all of the teeth, then a character comes out with crystals swirling around the character. You'll have to first destroy the swirling crystals, then hit the character until destroyed. Once complete, another character (or perhaps two) appears with even more crystals swirling faster than the last set of crystals that surrounded the first character. I was not able to take out this second set of crystals to get to the second character/s.

The above process was more time consuming than previous bonus rounds. This could be indicative of an end nearing, or simply a matter of added complexity to yet one of many more bonus rounds to come.

If one is able to pass the dragon's mouth, where might the next battle be set?

Again though, other than a feeling, I'm fully admitting that my end round suspicions are purely speculative and very well may be wildly inaccurate.

The yellow/gold ball you get for completing a bonus stage is 4x. It has a timer and counts down 5,4,3,2,1 when about to expire.
From what Ive seen it max's run if you enter a bonus round with a 4x ball it doesnt make any difference, you still have a normal ball.
Ive seen a 2x blue ball as well.
The 3 hearts at the top give you 200k. Not sure what else.

I just watched Max's high score. I agree, very final boss feel.

Each time you complete a bonus round it highlights one of the characters on the bonus screen. Max highlighted all 8 characters. I think he is right, level 9 is probably the final boss. I think he was only a couple hits away from beating it.

32 of his total 39 Mil came just from completing bonus levels. Another mil or 2 came from the bonus round multiplier and another couple mil came from just playing the bonus rounds. So nearly 95% of his score was from the bonus rounds.

Some how he destroyed the crystal in the top right corner to access a secret screen. There is 4th bonus entrance there. Any idea how you did that?

There are 3 other bonus stage entrances. They have grey arrows pointing to them. To activate them hit them once, then kill all the guys that come out of them then hit the entrance again to enter.

Locations
Top screen. Top center.
Center screen. Top right.
Bottom screen. Top left.

For completing a bonus stage you get 4 million points, an extra life and a multiplier ball. The multiplier ball multiplies all of your points while it lasts. You lose it after about 60 seconds or if you die or if you enter a bonus stage. I've seen the multiplier range from 2 to 4. The number of the multiplier might be based on how long it takes you to complete the level.

Completing a bonus stage also gives you an extra ball on screen in the next bonus level. Catch the extra balls with one of your flippers and play with just one ball.

You are less likely to lose a ball if you are only playing with one at a time.

He turned all all the 3 hearts in top left corner red twice. It says "congratulations" when you do it. Not sure what else happens. He got got a stopper in the center and right gutter. The 3 red hearts might have triggered that the second time but they definitely didn't the first time.

Max, you have a 10% chance of a free ball after game over. You submitted your score too early to find out if you would have got it.

The stoppers are triggered by the pad locks. The left gutter stopper is from the pad lock in center screen.

So by the looks of it, every enemy you defeat on the playfield lights a red light. Every 10 red light, lights a shiny light (the flashing blueish ones) and every 10 of these flashing lights will increase the bonus multiplier on the play field.

The crystal is difficult to destroy in earlier rounds (possibly not possible). I generally just attempt to continually bash at it as it is an easy shot. The shooter on the right also does a great job bashing into the crystal too. At some point in the game, and I'm not exactly sure when, the crystal becomes much easier to destroy.

Once on the right side, or the secret screen if you will, flipping the ball into to the bonus round slot is not so simple.

I just assumed that was a free game chance akin to most classic pinball games. As I'm flush with tokens, my inclination was to move along. Thanks for noting this and the numerous other items.

I'll try to make use of the various things brought up in this thread on my next attempt sometime this week. Hopefully there is solid info here for others inclined to work on this game too.

@Max, I think the only additional things you should add to your gameplay are go for the pad locks to get the stoppers. Turn the center crystals light blue for an extra life. Wait until after the game over for the 10% chance of an extra life. You pull the plunger all the way down. I like to pull it half way. That gives you a better shot at starting in the top screen instead of center.

I miss counted. Looks like a total of 8 bonus rounds. Max completed 7. So he got 28 mil from completing bonus rounds. Around 80-85% of his total score was generated in bonus rounds.

I thought I was going to score something in the range of 800-850. My jaw dropped when I saw the end tally. I mean, it was a decent effort for me, but I was baffled at the end score.

Does anyone have any knowledge as to the scoring system? I don't have a clue.

Watching I was like ah he must complete a few races. But only 4 (I think) ! was weird. Will do some research.
