I guess it will easily emulate what I'd want to to, want i'd really like to see is a working version of mame on it, I struggled with the one on wii for the last few days and I came to the conclusion that it just sucks.
Ok, it's time for Seahawk's completely unprofessional
3DS SPECS COMPARISON TABLE
================================================== ========
This is only a table. Do not take this as any indication of possible actual performance.
================================================== ========
Theoretically, it should be able to run MAME.
The PSP Slim (The one with the 64 MB of RAM) can run MAME no problems, so from that it, it appears as though the 3DS would be able to run MAME.
Since the internets are hotly in debate about whether these specs are genuine, I will point out that none of the 3DS specs are official until Nintendo makes an announcement.
In my personal opninion I'd say they're pretty reasonable.
These CPU speed in particular continues the tradition of being a multiple of Nintendo's previous handhelds.
I like how it has more video memory than the Wii, for a smaller screen >_>;. But I hate how people are rating it as underpowered compared to the iPad/iPhone--this is a game machine, not a freaking computer running an OS and phone in the background. Sorry, I had to get that off of my chest.
The conference is over.
Apologies in advance for messy post.
Most important news:
LAUNCH DATE:
FEBRUARY 26, 2011 IN JAPAN @ 25,000 YEN MARCH 2011 FOR USA/EUROPE
OFFICIAL DESIGN:
The system will be available in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black.
Highlights: Mii Studio:
There are more than 180 million Mii characters out there worldwide, according to Iwata. Mii Studio can be used to make the Mii experience simpler: you can use the system's camera to take a picture of your face, which then can be used as a template to adjust the various Mii face parts to customize the Mii.
Mii characters can then be converted into a QR Code that you can print out or post on a website so you can share your Mii in a different way: friends use their 3DS cameras to take a picture of the code and instantly retrieve your Mii. There is also a Tag Mode Mii Plaza so you can see all the Mii characters you've collected wirelessly.
Virtual Console:
- 3DS will come with a 2 GB SD card packed in.
- VIRTUAL CONSOLE CONFIRMED FOR GAME BOY AND GAME BOY ADVANCE GAMES!
- Title shown include Mario Land and Link’s Awakening DX.
- Also selling “Classic Games” viewed in 3D!
System Wi-Fi + related:
- Iwata introduces something called “Itsu no ma ni Tsuushin”.
- This feature has the system automatically download new rankings, new ghost data, new free software, notices from Nintendo and more, all through Wi-Fi.
- You can actually use this feature anywhere, including DS Download Stations and Nintendo Zones… and even McDonalds!
- NTT partnering with Nintendo for Wi-Fi hotspots around Japan, starting sometime in 2011.
- Iwata says they want to deliver new experiences every day using this Itsunoma ni Tsuushin feature.
The "tag mode" enables the system to talk with other 3DS systems while they are in sleep mode. Data will transfer between the devices no matter which game is plugged into the system. All games can (and possibly will) support this function on the 3DS.
Nintendo has partnered with Fuji TV to distribute free 3D videos to users on an experimental basis.
The 3DS also appears to have multi-tasking function: you'll be able to hit the home button mid-game and launch certain programs, such as a "Memory Notebook" or pull up your playtime or see the amount of steps you've taken (possibly confirming the system features a pedometer built-in).
There also seems to be a cradle that you can set the system into. That system cradle we saw at E3 will allow you to have faster internet downloads apparently when you put the 3DS on it. Details on this forthcoming.
Games + related:
Iwata admitted during the conference that in the past, very few third party games sell on Nintendo consoles and handhelds. It’s true that Wii third party game sales are low in Japan and the first year of Nintendo DS software sales was all Nintendo, but this has since changed. It didn’t go as well as planned with Wii, so they’re fixing the problem with the 3DS. The company will be taking a stronger initiative in helping third-party games sell on the 3DS.
In a developer interview shown at the conference, Namco Bandai's Sakagami notes that he would like to use Tag Mode for rankings and exchanging ghost data in Ridge Racer 3D.
Also in this developer interview video, Yoshinori Ono from Capcom says that they wanted to make a Street Fighter where you can battle anywhere. According to him, you'll be able to use Wi-Fi to receive fight requests wherever you are.
-A guy from Capcom says that Resident Evil Revelations is “pure horror.” He believes players will be excited to play it in 3D.
- Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D is also in development.
- Level-5 believes that by using the 3DS’s 3D capabilities, puzzle solving will become more direct for the layer. CEO Akihiro Hino says that they’re putting their power into 3DS development.
- Tetsuya Nomura said “starting with Kingdom Hearts, we’d like to release a number of titles on 3DS.”
- Hideo Kojima has lots of ideas for the 3D screen and Tag Mode. Snake Eater will “camouflage” the functionality.
- Samurai Warriors Chronicle will take advantage of the 3D effect in cutscenes. Think flying bullets.
- Companies giving praise for the 3DS’s hardware.
Showed video reel of various 3DS games, including Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Ocarina of Time, Chocobo Racing, PilotWings Resort, Metal Gear Solid, Ridge Racer, Professor Layton, Star Fox 64, Zelda…
And then the conference ended.
Probably more info tomorrow and video footage and screenshots come out. But you heard it heard first =)!

Wiimotionplus accesory now is a single unit instead of an extension that you plug in.

At the September 29, 2010, press event in Japan, Iwata stated that “The Last Story” would release in Japan on January 27, 2011. More details to follow. No word yet if a North American release will follow.

That's the price in Japan.......and that's the same material I wrote. A simply currency conversion shouldn't be called an official price since stuff gets sold in different regions at entire different prices. Or did I miss something?
Either way I'd say 300$ is a bit too much. 250$ sounds more reasonable, make it 200$ and I'm sold.
