PC's all well and good. Getting games for fre - - I mean getting games cheaper is awesome. Consoles are great too.

I see a lot of people here who wouldn't buy an Xbox or a 360 in the first place, yet complaining about the Xbox One? It seems kinda off to do so, and I know, freedom of speech and what not. That's fine, but unless you were planning on buying the next gen console in the first place, what sense does it make to complain about it? The adage, don't like it don't buy it, applies very well here.

I guess I'm just young.

The problem is that MS's influence on the industry is huge, regardless of who is going to buy what, it effects us all.

obviously there is alot that hate the system . which i dont understand all it did was show off the system features instead of the games does not mean its a bad system . just by showing that off i think tons of causal gamers that played the wii would proble buy it just from the kinect and being able to control your tv alone. never mind the games .

microsoft did this cuzz they want the best of both worlds . i mean they single handly dominated online area they took over the hardcore space and kicked butt with one of the best controllers we ever seen with the 360 .. with that being said they want to be able to dominate both areas of the floor with kinect type stuff and hardecore stuff . and i think they can do it . its just a matter of what we will see for games at e3 and after . with the xbox one

Single handedly dominated online? Took over the hardcore space? Pretty sure that was mostly Sony with the 360 only eking past the PS3 in North America alone.

Also, the 360 controller kicked butt? That thing is friggen' atrocious. Worst D-pad ever. I mean, c'mon, using a hat switch as a d-pad? Buttons are too soft, not enough click to them as well.

actully yes the hard core space is being dominated by microsoft either that or you could say the space is split 50/100 .

worst D pad ever yes i would agree but people love how the triggers feel better then the dule shock while playing shoooters . one of the many reasons why 360 out sells ps3 almost 2 to 1 . shooters were made for the 360 . and other buttons fit very well only the D pad do people really have a problem with but most games dont use the D pad that much anymore any ways . or alest not as much do .

@champ only gona say this once so the mods on here know were i stand do not i repeat do not try to fight me i want no part of you . Go play CT and leave me Alone . and only comment on the conversation if it brings something to the table . Ok i aint here to fight no body i just want to talk games.

What planet have you been living on?

@DB: That's kind of surprising. Last time I used a D-pad was last night while playing some Gargoyle's Quest. Last time I used an analog was about 3 weeks ago for Paper Mario: Sticker Star. I use either or depending on what the game calls for but in general if I have an option I prefer to use the D-pad, as was the case with Etrian Odyssey IV.

i was saying in the united states the 360 has been the best selling console in the united states for the months since before the end of the last year .

obviously 360 does not do well around the world but in the united states it does very well in japan its nintendo and sony that are king there .

The things that make me hate it already are the fact it's more of a cable box than a games console, and used game fees.

Analog outputs are slowly being phased out on most video devices in favor of all digital broadcast (i.e. HDMI).
Blu-Ray devices in particular are going through a so called 'analog sunset' - on January 1st 2011, HD output via analog was disabled on all new manufactured devices.
On December 31 of this year, new manufactured BD devices will be forbidden from using any analog outputs, period.

Yes, but you can still use a tuner to convert to a analog output from HDMI.

I think it'd be easier to just buy a new TV.
No offense, if you're willing to spend a load of currency on a BD player (and they are expensive) or an expensive game console, a cheap TV with an HDMI input shouldn't be out of your reach.

So I wonder if Sony gets any money indirectly off of Microsoft now that the XBOX One has a blu-ray drive.

Sony is part of the BDA which owns blu ray technology.

For all those that are complaining and think this sucks, could you please tell me what exactly you were expecting and what exactly do you want out of a console?

Right now I have a Wii that gets played on very rare occasions but is mostly just a device to stream Netflix and it doesn't even stream in HD. I've also got a DVR and a Blue Ray disc player. I can't wait to give that piece of crap Wii the boot and think it's awesome that I might have one device that lets me get rid of all the crap I have hooked up to my TV.

I figure there are those that are just haters and will complain about anything and then there are Microsoft haters that will hate anything they do but I'm a bit suprised about all the hating in this thread. It just doesn't make sense to me. It's like most people expected them to take a step backward and create something that just played games when it's been obvioius for a long time now that the direction of all elecronic devices is to do more, not less. It feels like there is nothing they could have done to make people happy. I'm obviously in the minority around here but I can't wait to get my hands on one and see what this bad boy can do with my big screen tv.

My problem is how they seem to be focusing on fluff stuff a PC can do better instead of games. If their games reveal is more of the same COD and Kinect it will bomb hard.

@Red- I have both an Xbox and Xbox 360 but can honestly say I will most likely not be getting the Xbox One.
