Well, it's time to get the life back into this thread and put forth some ground rules.
COMMITTEES:
There will be two committees - for scoring and rules.
Scoring - the scoring committee will consist of two people and will be responsible for insuring the validity of all scores of each tournament. Since most (if not all)of the scores will be submitted per PM all that will need to be done will have one person agree with the scores posted on the leader board spreadsheet with the scores that are PM'ed to him/her.
Rules - The rules committee will consist of three people and will be responsible for making sure all participants are following the guidelines that are being set forth in the following "rule book". These people will formulate decisions on any wrongdoings or complaints by players concerning the rules or possible violation of the rules.
SEASON SET UP:
The season will consist of seven (7) tournaments. At the end of the season, an overall points leader will be determined. The winner will receive the "2007 RetroUprising Open" Badge, with rights and privileges thereafter for winning the 2007 season (in other words a badge and bragging rights).
TOURNAMENT SET UP:
Each tournament will consist of four (4) rounds. After the fourth round, season points (not to be confused with RU points) will be distributed (Season points will be discussed later).
ROUND SCORING:
Each round consists of eighteen (18) holes, and ALL HOLES must be completed for the round to count. After the round the handicap (discussed later) will be added to the score for a final round score.
HANDICAP:
Handicap will be the players average score less par (72). Handicap will be adjusted after each round. If a player's average score is under par (less than 72) their handicap will be 0.
Penalty strokes will not effect your handicap. This means that if you get penalty strokes, it will be added after your score is adjusted by your handicap.
SEASON POINTS:
Season points will be distributed after each tournament according to the FedEx Cup point structure (see
link). These points are NOT the same as RetroUprising points and will NOT be distributed as such. This is just a way to determine who wins at the end of the season.
SUBMISSION OF SCORES:
All scores will be submitted by screen shot to the scoring committee. To create a screen shot, press the control and print screen button of the scorecard at the end of the round. Open up Paint (or similar program) and paste it there. The file should have the player's name and round number on it. Attach the file to a PM and send it to the scoring committee. Some of the games the scorecard will extend to two screen lengths. It is the responsibility of the player to make sure that the uppermost view and lowermost view are present. Examples of approved screen shots will be shown in each tournament thread.
Due to continuing late scores being submitted, the following rule shall be strictly enforced. If your score is not submitted by the deadline time, you will be penalized one (1) stroke for it being late and an additional one (1) penalty stroke for every eight (8) hours it is late beyond that. If you have accumulated up to ten (10) penalty strokes you will be disqualified from the tournament (not season).
COURSES:
The courses will be a varying array of courses found on RetroUprising. Instructions will be given before the tournament on button function and a small "how to" section shall be included. Players are welcome and encouraged to play practice rounds to get a feel for the game and courses.
Some of the games we are playing have more than one course. It is the responsibility of the player to be sure that he/she is playing the right course. Failure to do so will result in a disqualification for the tournament (not entire season).
DISQUALIFICATIONS:
If a player is disqualified from any tournament, it results in a with drawl from the tournament in question and results in an automatic forfeiture of any season points that may have been earned if the player remained in the tournament (means if you get dropped from any tournament you don't even get the last place points you would have gotten if you stayed in the entire time).
VIOLATION OF RULES:
Any violations of rules will be sent to the rules committee. THE COMMITTEE'S DECISION IS FINAL!
This is just a dry run of the final rules. Please comment, the sooner these are finalized the sooner we start.
