Re: Mma
So is anyone thinking Condit has a chance versus St-Pierre? I think it'll be a steamroll. Can't wait.
I also heard that Dana said Silva will challenge him after the win. Silva says no but he's sneaky so who knows. I'd love to see that fight, it would be tough to predict. I think I'd lean towards GSP.

Re: Mma
I hope not but yes, I think he has a chance. GSP hasn't fought in a really long time and he's coming off a brutal knee injury. I don't think it's a reasonbale expectation to think he's going to be as good as he was before he got hurt. But my biggest worry is all the pressure people are putting on GSP to finish a fight. If he does something careless to try and impress the crowd, he could pay a high price.
I hate the fact that the refs rewarded Condit for running from Diaz the entire fight. Because of this, I expect him to impliment a similar gameplan vs GSP and run from his takedown all night long and try and win the fight the same way. For all the criticism GSP takes for not finishing fights and all the aclaim Condit gets for finishing 24 of his 26 fights, in their last fights at least GSP tried to finish. Condit never even attempted to finish Diaz. He just ran and slapped and kicked.
I don't think GSP would stand a chance vs Silva. Silva has knocked out guys that are bigger, stronger and faster than GSP. If I could pick my dream fight it would be Jones vs Dos Santos. They really aren't that far apart in size and I'd just really like to see someone knock that smirk off of Jones's face.

Re: Mma
I agree with most of DBC's points. Except the part about Silva destroying GSP. I think the fight would be a unanimous decision for GSP. Picture Sonnen's first fight with Silva, except picture it preformed in a more dominating fashion. GSP is incredibly strong for his size, his punches were measured to be heavier than Rashad Evans punches. Of course Silva is always one quick strike away from victory, but GSP would come in with a gameplan to neutralize that. Silva on his back is a gigantic hole in his game, GSP is the guy to exploit it.

Re: Mma
I think if anyone is gonna stop Silva it would be GSP. He constantly proves how dangerous he is and he's got the reflexes to match Silva for the most part.

Good fight overall. GSP won convincingly but it wasn't a steamroll by any means.

He had to fight for it for sure. That kick had me worried.

Re: Mma
I really thought it was over at that point. Good as he is it's one of those moments where they sometimes stop it if the guy is swarmed well enough. Thankfully it was a championship fight.

Yeah, aside from that he pretty much dominated him, it was grueling and wasn't pretty, but dominated none the less.

So was anyone else annoyed with how much they showed Silva?

Re: Mma
Not really annoyed, but it was weird. Kind of an odd thing to do when no fight was planned to be confirmed in the octogon.

Leads me to believe that Silva is just being coy, there will be a super fight relatively soon.

Re: Mma
I saw the prelims on FX so I didn't miss this. Decent fights so far but I knew BJ was gonna lose. The main event should be brutal at least.

Re: Mma
Good card overall, funny how they make sure to schedule fights they know will be interesting on the free cards so people will buy the ppv's, then they don't deliver on the ppv's.

Kinda one sided fights overall. Henderson destroyed Diaz, too bad he didn't knock him out.

Re: Mma
Really excited to see tonights fights. I'm ready with the Facebook feed and some beer. Got the DVR set for the prelims on FX and will be buying the PPV and having some friends over to watch on the big screen. I'm hoping for wins out of Leben, Belcher and Dos Santos. Don't really care about the other fights but they should be good as well.

I'm watching. Isn't it kinda funny how most of the talking heads have shaved heads? Usually Rogan is with that weirdo Goldberg but with this new guy it's a lot more noticeable.

Oh man, that was brutal. Not only did all the fighters I liked lose but the Beavers lost their bowl game as well. One of those nights

Re: Mma
I hate when people boo at these events. 99% of the time the fight is just fine but going slower than they'd like. Booing Dos Santos while he was being interviewed was pathetic. Yeah he did bad the whole fight but it's not like he ran or hid from Cain. Sometimes you just can't get back in the game after being rocked. People need to grow up and show some respect.
Not the most exciting night of fighting. Miller and Cain did great, lots of brutality.

Aldo or Edgar... predictions? I got Edgar, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was dead wrong.

Re: Mma
It's tough but I'm gonna go with Aldo. Both are great but he just seems a little greater. I'm also gonna guess Overeem and Evans. Evans is another close one though.

Re: Mma
I can't see Also finishing Edgar, and Aldo is susceptible to fatigue in the championship rounds, Edgar is not. I agree with your other predictions, should be pretty easy wins in both cases I think.

Re: Mma
Even though it was one sided that Fitch Maia fight was good. I felt bad for Fitch but he did a great job of defending.
Btw the next PPV is gonna have a womens title fight? I hope it's awesome.

Man, what a difference between this Overeem and the 14X the normal testosterone reem eh?

Omg that makes me happy.

Bigfoot gets my respect, I thought him beating Emenlienenko was a fluke, perhaps I was wrong.

The Fitch Maia fight suuuucked imo, I can respect the intense technical fighting, but when nothing happens at all, it gets boring.
Womens MMA is not cool as far as I'm concerned, I don't know I just don't like watching ladies fight.

Re: Mma
I didn't expect Overeem to get knocked out like that. One of the earlier punches just rung his bell and he stopped defending.
I thought stuff happened the whole time. I hate when people boo this kind of stuff. You're there to watch a fight, this is part of it.
Ladies won't be fighting so it shouldn't be a problem for you.

Wow, wrong on 100% of my predictions lol. Yeah I don't care about womens mma, I find it awkward, and unbecoming of the sex, sue me.
