And the sad thing about this game:
It was so close to being something great, it just needed some polish and more testing.

I've got this game for Gamecube and I have to agree that it's a broken mess; sprite/environment coupling seems off, especially going up and down ladders, and the gameplay in general is repetitive and boring.
Instead of feeling good about making my way through the levels, I feel frustrated at how long it takes to fight my way through all the guards.
It seems like they wanted to capture the action of the movies but neglected to take into account the drag factor of the time it takes to actually play the game.
Although some of the martial arts techniques in the game are impressive, even this bores me after a short time.
The one good thing I think we can all agree on are the live - action cutscenes {featuring the actual actors} which tie together The Animatrix and the movies through the storyline surrounding The Last Flight of the Osiris.

I've never played those games so I can't judge. But let's not fall into the bad hype for those games, otherwise we could have just made a thread with a single post saying "Superman 64 is the worst game ever." and have been done there.
I'd rather have a thread where we share our horror stories, it's much more amusing that way =P.

Re: Worst Game
The worst N64 game i played is Starshot. you have a lame weapon, and there is next to no point in a life bar because you die in 1 hit from most enemies.

You should make a horror story thread.
But Superman 64 is awful game.

Honestly I'd want to see for myself, as I know the AVGN is not the best player of games, and he exagerrates a lot. He does make clear mistakes sometimes, which he just blames the game for. He is funny but honestly he's not the best game player so I don't take all of his whining about hard games at face value.
And this thread suits can suit those purposes just fine.

Re: Worst Game
Of the ones I've played...
NES - Castlevania. I hate the game so much... The controls are horrible and broken, and the jumping is just plain terrible.
SNES - Road Runner Death Valley Ralley. It could've been a decent platform, but it's too much like Sonic to be of my liking.
N64 - Yoshi's Story. It's just not really my type of game. They did little to use 3D, and it's far too similar to Super Mario World 2.
GCN - Star Fox Adventures. I don't care about the fact that Nintendo bought the game while it was being made to make it a Star Fox game. The fact is, the game still sucks.
Wii - Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity. I thought that a Code Lyoko game would be fun, due to the fact that the world of Lyoko is everchanging and random. The game let me down. Hard.
GB/C - The fact that all of the GB/C are Pokemon games, it's really hard to say. So I'm just going to skip right over this if you don't mind.
GBA - Avatar: The Last Airbender. Game is easy until the last level, where it becomes insanely hard during the chase sequences.
DS - Pokemon Dash. Why... Just why...

Actually, when I was going to buy my N64 from a second - hand game store I actually played Superman myself, and yes, its controls are awful and the game has all kinds of problems.
I will grant you that AVGN does exaggerate {by pretending to lose and such}, but so do most people who are putting on a show.
It just makes things more interesting that way, but the games he reviews are, at best, lesser - known 'cult classics' and I can't see how he's done them any injustice.
As a matter of fact, I've tried games he reviews just to see for myself if they are as bad as he says, and for the most part he's right on.
But I like to play those 'bad' games sometimes, too.

Re: Worst Game
I'm surprised for two reasons. First, it's you speaking so badly about a DMC. Second, you think it's worse than all the really horrible PS2 games that got thrown together. DMC2 must be pretty bad.

It was a pretty bad game, the controls were a problem, Dante wasn't the smartass
he is in the other games, and you could kill the helicopter boss with just your guns
in a matter of seconds.
But Paintball 2000 is far, far worse than DMC2, I'm sure it's here on RU.
Worst FPS ever.

Re: Worst Game
SJB:
Whoa, you get that impression just from the box?
Is it because it has the 'B' word?
Ok, it isn't my genre of choice either, but who knows? = Maybe there's some interesting {or funny} gameplay.
I refer you to Bible Adventures for the NES - in particular, the 'Noah's Ark' game.
Bible Adventures ยป Nintendo
The first time I saw this was on AVGN's review of it, and I thought it looked like an interesting and challenging game, and I was right.
Try it yourself, you'll see what I mean - but you may gain a dislike of birds from it.

The only good Bible game was Super Noah's Arc 3D.
Or at least in my opinion.
