Re: Obesity thread.
The thing is... it's not what society says that it is healthy... there's a reason why it's called overweight... and there's a scientifically reason why they say what the weight range is for your age. If you're totally healthy, you'll be in your weight range.

Re: Obesity thread.
It's not about being a push over, being a push over is letting them do as they wish without defending yourself. Fighting doesn't make you a stronger person. So what if teachers won't do anything. You walk with dignity, and you refuse a fight with dignity, that's how you prove you're a bigger man.

Re: Obesity thread.
Peoples idea of overweight is different from scientists, and there is a body fat % involed. I could have no body fat and weigh 200lbs in muscle.

If i see someone bullying another kid who cant or wont stand up for themselves il gladly step in an put an end to it.

Re: Obesity thread.
Of course, not every obese person gets hit with Diabetes so far as i know. One example of a fit person with diabetes is Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears. He isn't obese but still has type 1 diabetes.

Re: Obesity thread.
I actually started a good thread!
Anyways, it all comes down to being in good health. not meaning to be at optimul performance for your age but to be comfortable with your body without health issues.

Re: Obesity thread.
@david man, I agree, you should stop bullies, you sound like a great person, but I still don't believe violence is the answer, specially with people how already use some form of aggression to feel superior.

It's not. It's how you learn that most people are just talk. It's quite empowering information.

Maybe in your neck of the woods. I was bullied a lot in middle school mostly, and I hit back. Then I got hit even harder. And I was a small kid until high school, so I had to back off in most instances.

Re: Obesity thread.
There is evidence that being a fat senior citizen is more healthy than being old and skinny. When you get to be around 40 or 50 your body starts to naturally put on more pounds. This is because when you hit about 60-80 you start losing a lot of pounds. In this age range it is more common to have health issues related to being underweight than overweight. So when you get to that age it is good to have some stored pounds to shed.

So, are you saying to bulk up now for later?

Re: Obesity thread.
No, bulk up later for the end. Start when you are 50ish. And by then the evidence will probably change and suggest something different.

That's good, I guess if someone asked to fight me, I would go for it.

Re: Obesity thread.
I forgot I was dealing with boys... and just to be clear, I always used the word healthy, skinny without being healthy is just stupid because you still have health problems and don't even look good.

Sorry we can't control our testosterone levels and be mature enough for you.
I agree with the usage of the word healthy, being skinny without being healthy is worse than being fat and unhealthy. At least if you are fat you can still get nutrients.
Super-skinny are unattractive to me.
If someone can be insulted for being overweight, someone can be insulted for being underweight. Anyone who manages to offend me with a fat joke (it has to be particularly nasty) gets called 'Slim' in the most insulting tone you can imagine.

Re: Obesity thread.
Awww, I didn't mean you you're immature, don't worry, I don't think that way. I know boys have a different way of looking at certain things in life. Violence been one, although some guys will agree that accepting fighting challenges and stuff like that is wrong, many won't agree.

I won't attack people at random, like I said, it would take a direct challenge or me being attacked to warrant any kind of reaction.
