True about the battery life. I don't know about the monopoly issue but it definitely was not as severe as in the NES days. The 8-bit Gameboy line lasted a very long time, well into the PS2 years. This is a stunningly long time for an 8-bit machine to last, and the monopoly comes from it being the only really successful portable out there, so I wouldn't call it a monopoly due to business practices =/.

Right, pretty much most games today are just variations of an FPS. Even though a lot of the Wii library is pretty lame you can find awesome gems like Klonoa and Muramasa on it that won't be on other consoles because they're not "mature" enough ;D. That and a lot of good things on Virtual Console even though you can play lots of them here XD. But, really paying for a game and owning it is good too ^^.

It may seem this way but it's not and to say it like it's a fact is irresponsible and untrue. Does the Wii have only mario style platformers? I'm sure you know that's not true because you actually own a Wii. Maybe you should trust my perspective on this since I actually own a 360 and I buy games for it.

I worded it wrong... Demand for FPS games are higher than anything else, especially the popular ones like COD or... well not so much anymore, but halo. I have a 360, but I never use it, I use the wii for internet. Like I am now. But, I don't use the wii for games...

Edit: Don't use it for wii games, but I do for my like 35 VC games.

Not all FPS are lame. Timesplitters Future Perfect is probably the most fun I've ever had shooting things.

To me, most of them today seem too focused on being on the razor cutting edge, adding a few polygons and smoke effects, and too deeply absorbed in some plot. The seriousness of the genre these days turns me away from them.

The GameCube was nothing short of TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! it was my 2nd favorite video game system (next to the SNES), and i still enjoy playin it. i actually find myself playin it more than my 360

It was, and it was one of the greatest horror games I've ever played.
Why hasn't Nintendo made another M rated game, it's not like Darkness was bad, it was awesome.
