Yeah, I had the one with the arm which could be extended for something like two feet and then retracted. Very cool.

actually wb, i think im thinking of something else. i googled swamp thing toys and couldnt find what i remember:
they were probably 8-10 inches tall and lightweight for their size, the only one i specifically remember, was a swamp monster type thing, crossed with a treant he was bulky and not very posable, just shoulders and hips i think. i think he had tentacles on his mouth like zoidberg and his arms and legs ended in tentacles or roots i think. anyone know what im talking about?

There were three of them that were scented. Stinkor, Mossman (that's the green, fuzzy one) and Perfuma.

Yeah, I was an semi-only-child who was spoiled.

The Swamp Thing toys I had were about that big, but they did have legs and stuff. This is the one I was talking about:

His left "grippy arm" could be extended and then retracted when you squeezed his legs together. The character was based on the Marvel comic, Movie, and Cartoon series of the same name.

Was Mossman brown with kind of fuzzy feeling moss? I remember a figure like that, but maybe that wasn't the one.

Transformers and M.A.S.K. got my votes, but that's mainly because I was always into cars more than action figures.

Cool, I think my friend had that one too, but the one I'm thinking of may not have even been a M.O.T.U. figure. I just remember a figure with a brown plastic body and short fuzzy (almost chia pet) type of moss.

While we are on this topic, does anyone remember a figure that kind of looked like a Ring Wraith (wearing robes), but instead of a face, he had this weird hologram. Anyone know what that was?

true story, i was probably 3 or 4, my brother was 2 or 3, and i stole his voltron, so he got his revenge by getting a big tonka dump truck from the other room and hit me over the head with it. the next thing i remember after that was voltron riding around in the back of the tonka truck

I wondered where those votes came from. I'm glad there has been some female input as well. I realize that most of the active members on RU are guys, but I felt that to be fair I would include the biggest toys that came up in the 80's, and I don't think any list can be complete without including things like Cabbage Patch Kids and My Little Pony (as much as I may not have personally liked them, they were still really popular).

I also purposefully didn't include any video game systems, as I thought it would be cooler to have the systems of that era square off against each other instead of putting GI JOE against the NES.

By the way, KONG, there is no way to make a poll with more options than 10 right?

I wasn't alive in the 1980s, however, I still grew up with Transformers. I got to play with them in awesome robot fights and then have car races. I often made up imaginary games such as:

Optimus Prime Vs. Darth Vader

Batman Vs. Megatron

The list goes on. Anyway, I'll say Transformers.

What was the one, either in the 90s or the 80s - not really sure.

The was like a cool dude who was green and gungy!
I think he was somthing to do with Toxic waste,
Whever he was suppost to be saving the earth from toxic waste or actully spreading it I dont know.

I just remember he was green and I think he wore somthing purple.
I remember the Toxic waste strongly.

Al;so them sharks, what were they called?
It was like they were tryin to rip the TMNT off.
There were like 4 of them.

The toxic one was the Toxic Crusaders. They were pretty cool. They were from a cartoon based on the Toxic Avengers movies.

I remember the Shark guys, but I can't remember what they were called.
