Well I wasn't being totally serious either. I am serious about the US being a huge factor in saving Britians ass. If the US stayed out of it things would be different now. Do you really think Canada and the other allied nations could've done it without the US?

About the nukes, sure it was a horrible loss of life but is it worse than a long drawn out land war with a potentially higher body count? Also Canada and Britian helped develop these weapons knowing full well what they could do.
