Although that is true it's not the reason somedude is in the wrong here.
Somedude you are not allowed to tell people to leave a topic. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion and TMT didn't do anything wrong. You need to lighten up.

Re: Best Modern System
Sorry but what do you mean about taking sides? If you mean how I agreed with Jim about TMT then yeah, TMT is my friend and I don't appreciate you being rude to him. I didn't give you an infraction or anything though, right? I was just suggesting you drop the attitude.
Btw I do understand what you meant Somedude but you did say it in a rude way.

Re: Best Modern System
Not until Nintendo starts making more good games.
360 wins when it comes to the number of good, original, full length games. There is no debate about that. If you don't like FPS then too bad, it still counts.(not directed at you somedude, just in general)

Re: Best Modern System
Ah, I see we have a "Wii is shovelware" addict.
Well, at least Nintendo can make a system that doesnt break every 30 minutes.

Re: Best Modern System
No actually I own a Wii and I think it's a great system. It's not my fault Nintendo isn't making any good games besides the occasional rare gem amongst craploads of minigames(sold as full games remember).

Are you claiming there aren't a crap load of bad games for the 360?
I know that one or two great games a month come out for the Wii that usually end up on my wishlist.
Games that have come out in just this year (Jan - Apr) that interested me:
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins
Deadly Creatures
House of the Dead: Overkill
Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers
MadWorld
Rune Factory: Frontier
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time
Broken Sword: Director's Cut
Excitebots: Trick Racing
Plus with these game coming out in the next two months:
Punch-Out!!
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings
The Conduit
Overlord: Dark Legend
Cursed Mountain
I really don't see how people are claiming the Wii is just all shovelware. Its really just an arguement for the narrow minded. Also note, I believe all but two of those are Wii exclusive titles.

Re: Best Modern System
Woah a Final Fantasy game for the Wii? No way! Its like replacing the Master Sword with a lightsaber.
Personally, I want to get MadWorld, even though it does look a little bleak.

Re: Best Modern System
I have to say I like the titles for the 360 better, but I don't think it's a better system. It depends on what you want.
The Wii does a good job providing a group experience. It's something that allows people to sit down (or stand up) together without much time spent explaining complicated controls, and have some fun. I've been to 3 Wii parties since Christmas and they were a lot of fun!
On the other hand, the 360 excels in the darker, more "adult" oriented gaming experience which I happen to value just a little bit more. Again, I think it just depends on what you want out of a system.
I can't comment on the PS3 because I don't know any one that's even considered buying one...

Re: Best Modern System
The FF game is online co-op as well. There are two more FF games coming out this year for the Wii, both exclusive titles. FFCC: Crystal Bearers and FFIV 2 (That's right, a sequeal to FFIV!)
As for me, I am definatly purchasing MadWorld, HotD: OK (I'm a Sega fan, who knew?), Punch-Out!!, and Excitebots. They're actually saying Excitebots is even better than Mario Kart Wii.

Re: Best Modern System
I just wanna point out that I didn't say the Wii is shovelware in any of my posts. My point is Nintendo is milking the family market by releasing TONS of junk games with the extremely casual gamer in mind. That kind of thing is fine but I don't have to like it. So yeah if that makes it shovelware then too bad, if the shoe fits right?
I've only liked about three games for Wii and I bought about ten. That does not make me wanna buy more. I realize that I might be the problem in this equation and I can accept that. But, I don't see how anyone can deny the fact that Nintendo is losing the older audiences. 360 and PS3 are selling strong. If Wii didn't have the VC it might not be doing so well right now.
Btw Tenser give me a break, obviously there's garbage games for the 360 and ps3 but those systems also have more games overall(I think, not sure about ps3).
How about this, from my personal experience 360 is much better when it comes to games. Wii is not a bad system but it needs a better selection of games before I'll buy anything else for it.
Edit, so Tenser are we gonna be playing FF online coop or what?

Re: Best Modern System
Just because a game is created for the casual gamer (which I consider myself to be) doesn't make it junk. I don't think Nintendo is denying the older audiance but instead, embracing it. Now I'll admit I'm a perfect fit for Nintendo's target audiance but lets work this out. As the audiance ages, more and more of us are getting married and starting a family of our own. We're looking for those great Nintendo series which we use to play as a kid and that we can now enjoy with our own children. I have less and less time to devote to a game because the free time I'm not working or sleeping I'd rather spend with my family. I wouldn't be able to invest 100hours into a single game within a year any longer.I'm looking for things that are more pick up and play. I have to agree, I think its mostly just you who've fallen out of the target audiance.
Out of curiosity, which ten do you own, which three do you like?

Re: Best Modern System
I said extremely casual for a reason. I mean the people who buy a Wii because it's the new trendy thing or they buy it for the kids and it's there first video game system. I don't blame Nintendo for catering to that market since it's very profitable, I just want more games I like.
The junk games to me are the collections of minigames, crappy games like the Redbull/M&M ones or the poorly made licensed games like TMNT. A lot of companies want in on the cash cow.
Yeah I think I've mentioned before how I'm not the target audience for Wii. Hopefully Nintendo continues to do well so they'll have more time and money to devote to more mature games. Doesn't have to be bloody or sexual, just something I can relate to I guess.
I own Mario Kart, Galaxy, SSBB, Animal Crossing, Guitar Hero3, Kabooki(gf bought it), WiiFit, Wii Play. For the VC I have F-Zero, River City Ransom. I also own Defend your Castle(actually pretty cool) and Tetris Party(not bad).
I've rented quite a few games and I've been mostly disappointed. The only two I remember are TMNT(not bad if your a 5 year old) and that RE game that was a rail shooter, it wasn't horrible but I got bored of it quick.
You never answered me about FF online coop. This is the first I've heard of it and I plan on buying it either way.
Btw I love RU. 10 votes and 0 for PS3.

Re: Best Modern System
I'm thinking of waiting until the second one comes in November. The first one (FFCC:EoT) was a dual release for Wii and DS. Its much more of a DS title brought to the Wii. The second one (FFCC:CB) was purely made for the Wii itself. I'm going to wait for that one.
And of course FFIV: The After Years is a must have.
---------- Post added at 09:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:47 AM ----------
Also, Steven, I'm suppose to get DragonQuest: Swords today. After I've had some time with it I'll let you know how it is.

So apparently we have a quantity over quality conflict here.
Also, what the heck do you do in Kabooki? Sounds like a Japanese-only release to me.

Re: Best Modern System
My point about 360 and PS3 having more games overall means they have a bigger selection so obviously they'll have large number of junk games. Imo Wii has a bad percentage of good games/junk. I'd go search through all the games to be sure but I'll just go with my personal experience out of lazyness.
Couldn't tell you about Kabooki since I didn't try it. Looks like a bunch out minigames.

Re: Best Modern System
I am agreeing with the idea that all systems release junk games. My point I'm trying to make is Nintendo is doing more of it compared to the other two(not total number but percentage). My opinion of course but I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
