I agree with that 100%. This year when I saw the Christmas stuff coming out before Halloween I said to my wife Christmas is now just about sales for stores it has lost everything that it once stood for and it no longer means its a day to spend time with your family either. It has gone to be all about greed and that is not cool by me at all.

That's only if you let that happen. Excluding for those who still believe in Santa, my family doesn't go overboard with presents. We understand the main focus is spending time with our loved ones. Christmas is only about presents if you let it become that way in your family.

sadly, most people get caught up with "things" in this affluent and materialistic society

You know Wal Mart/K mart/ect changed to "seasons greetings" and "Winter Holiday" one year but religious people flipped out so these companies caved and went back to the BS as usual? There's a difference between schools and Wal-Mart in that you aren't required by law to go to Wal-Mart.

There is also a difference between teaching religion to people unwillingly and harmless Christmas songs.

I would add you, but I was recently banned from Xbox Live for having a modded console and for being an idiot.

But I will probably buy a new one some day and then I weill be back online. I'll let you know if that ever happens.

Nah you didn't bug me. I feel bad I'm not playing 360 with you and Oasis but I rented Gears of War2 to play with my brother. We've been pwning some locust. We got in the 30s on the Horde leaderboard. I know that doesn't make sense to most of you but it's a big deal to us. It took a few hours of constant defending, was great fun.

yes i played it on single player and i almost beat it in 12 hours

You played the Horde mode single player? I didn't even realize you could, it uses 4 bots right? That must suck, the AI isn't perfect by any means.

Yeah I heard about the Toys R Us thing. At least that one is easy to punish the offenders. The Wal Mart thing is crazy because a man died and it might end up with no one getting in trouble. That really makes me mad, someone dies for such a stupid reason and no one gets jail time.

MJ, I'm liking Gears of War2 but I don't know if I'll buy it. I am returning it to Blockbuster tomorrow, I'm thinking of getting MK vs DC since it looks cool as hell. Maybe in a while I'll buy Gears2 used if it's cheap enough though.

traditionally, i avoid all shopping and shopping centers on black friday. however, last friday, me and the gf were returning home after visiting my parents near nashville. the opryland hotel (on the same complex as the grand old opry) has an awesome christmas display starting on black friday. so i thought we would go check it out. an amusement park called opryland used to be there, so i figured, no problems on getting to the hotel. used to be there is the key phrase. everyone forgot to tell me that they tore down the amusement park and built a gigantic shopping mall called opry mills in its place. a nightmare, took me about 75 minutes from getting off of the highway to get back on, total distance of less than a 3/10th of a mile.

side note about mk vs dc. a kid i know whined about the game, crying that when he fought superman, a punch from superman took down about half of his health...duh?!?!
