I'll do another full screenshot since this one wasn't figured out instantly. If it's too easy forgive me, you guys know more about retro games than I do. Speaking of that remember you can contribute to this game by PMing me. I could use some help picking good screenshots that might fool this crowd. Just make sure it's on RU and you don't guess when it gets posted.

To answer your question, I don't know the game, I got a bit resourceful for this one. You mentioned it was on SNES, and Amiga. I just googled games that were on SNES and Amiga. Found a site listing a page and a half of games (45 games?), it also showed screenshots beside em. Found the game that matched the similar look, googled more images of the game I thought it was, and bam. Found this:

Little lava looking things in the boxes matched, and the weapons box.

I wouldn't say this was a bad thing, it was fun to have a little hunt like that. Didn't take me too long either, so don't think I just had a lot of time on my hands or anything haha :P

That is for sure Xevious but I'll guess NES just to be different. This was one of the better arcade ports for the NES as the games play very similar and the difficulty is pretty equal.
