Shamus is really white. Like freaky milky ghost white. He gave my wife the creeps when she saw him on tv.

The most exciting for me is Mr Perfects song John Mcgylicuty (sp)
Hes on NXT at the moment (WWE's new talent showcase show) but I see him being a big factor pretty soon. He has a lot of his dads swag lol...and MR Perfect was on the best heels EVER RIP!
Dashing Cody Rhodes is Dusy Rhodes son (so is Gold Dust lol) but hes pretty good as well.
Randy Orton is just a beast IMO. I love watching him spazz out in the ring before he hits the RKO finisher. They have him fueding with the current champ Shameus and it looks like they will have an awsome match at the next payperview.
|
Cool. Mr. Perfect was an awesome heel indeed! It's a shame he died so young. It will be cool to see what his son will do.
I remember watching Dustin Rhodes (aka Gold Dust) back in the day. One of my favorite little seen matches back in WCW days was Dustin vs Vader. Pretty good stuff. I have never seen Cory. I think Dustin lives (or lived) about 20 minutes away from where I do, as I know a some people who used to hang out with him.
Yeah RKO is cool. I didn't like how alot of the older guys had to put him over so much in the beginning, but I like how he has grown as a wrestler in his own right. Whenever I catch a show of his, I enjoy seeing his matches. He wrestled during the taping I saw as well, and he and Batista really stole the whole night (oh and Stacy Keibler. ).

Re: Pro Wrestling
Harts like officially back? That's all I care about, I haven't watched since 04-08 but I heard hart came back and watched the whole confrontation thing. Last I heard he had a stroke several years ago and couldn't fight again. But if he's back I may tune in for his parts again.
Another reason I stopped watching is because Edge was treated retardedly, I like how he won the belt like 5 times when I was near finished watching the shows, but of course they had the whole undertaker BS and I mean it's the same thing every time undertaker had a feud and I was sick of it.
I also stopped watching because hart wasn't around, Jericho and Christian left, now all of them are back? Is this correct.
I also watched a bit back in the nineties and know all about the whole hart thing.
Edit: Eddie also died and Benoit had too many concussions and went phsyco.

Re: Pro Wrestling
You all like watching muscular men in small pants hug and that is gay and you know it!
My only memory of Pro Wrestling is a fight were someone broke the rules by picking up a chair, slamming it repetedly in the other guys head, punching the judge in the ring in the face so he fainted, throwing the other contestant at the judges table and then countinously hunting him all over the place with the chair and hitting him with it until the fight ended.
Not really that fun but it was okay.

Long live the days of WCW. They had some of the best talent that WWE wouldn't use as much or betrayed. My favorite wrestlers are Goldberg and Sting...

You say that like it's a bad thing.
But seriously we only watch pro wrestling for stuff like this-
NSFW- might be disturbing to some people.

I remember seeing that on TV and I laughed but I thought it was going a little too far. Obviously it's a set up and the guy knows how to fall down stairs but it's pretty messed up and it's way over the top.

Yeah I don't remember any outrage but I think it's telling of how wrestling was at that time. Now it's so PG-13 it's boring.

Re: Pro Wrestling
actually WWE is very PG right now. No bad words, no blood, and the women dress in swimsuits that were all the rage in the 20's. Linda McMahon is running for senator of Connecticut so if she ends up winning, it's gonna stay that way for a good while.

Re: Pro Wrestling
Someone I work with is a wrestling fan and they told me recently that they really hate the new family friendly theme. I agree with them but I can understand why they decided to do it. They can't compete with the brutal reality of MMA so they are going back to what worked with the Hogan era, get ready to eat your vitamins and drink your milk.

Re: Pro Wrestling
The big reason that WWE went PG is that
1. They were loosing there key demographic. Older fans were loosing intrest because the guys they wanted to watch wrestle were either
A. dying off
B.getting to old to wrestle and retiring
The strategy they have now (and what worked in the past) is to make it more kid accessable. That way as they grow up they will want to watch wrestling and will stay fans. So that way they keep up a constant new fan base. Plus during the whole "attitude" era they lost a lot of younger viewers because parents deemed it to violent for kids to watch.
2.The other component is Linda McMahon. She did have a lot of influence on the toned down shows but I think the loss of viewership just made it easier for her to get what she wanted. I think she did win her senate seat so im sure it will be this way for some time to come.
Of course they could say that now she has her seat we can relax a little more. Maybe not all the blood but more chair shots and craziness.
Actually not but a few weeks ago a wrestler got fired (and rehired lol) for being to aggressive. The fans and other wrestlers petitioned to get him rehired and they did...but it took a lot of work to get him back lol

Re: Pro Wrestling
I think wrestling could borrow a thing or two from MMA...they promote their shows in a very similar way, though of course MMA is real while pro wrestling is fake...a lot of people who grew up watching wrestling are now watching MMA, and with they way they promote their shows a wrestling organization should look into that and incorporate some of their ideas into their own product...but it seems like they just want to do the opposite. That's okay I guess but it's not going to help business at all by doing what they are doing now.
Also on a side note I am really impressed by where Brock Lesnar is at. He always came across as this freakishly large dude with tons of athletic ability and he managed to climb to the top of the WWE fairly quickly...now he's gone from there and basically did the same thing in UFC. I can't think of anyone who can ever find the same kind of success Brock did in both sports.

Re: Pro Wrestling
Btw UFC is doing a promotion with my local theaters that allows people to watch the next PPV for 15$ a ticket on a big screen. If I can get out of work I'm gonna go for sure, that's a good deal imo. It'd be cheaper if we all pitched in for the PPV but then we'd be crowded around the TV, this is like 50 feet of badassery, hard to pass up.
