well they dont reward you for failed attempts at all in the pole vault and i didnt get any succesful vaults, so nothing for that.
i tried the second weight in weight lifting and failed, i was only successful in the lowest weight so minimal points there.
i think i might have had 2 faults in my triple jump. thats why my score just edged out yours.

I discovered a new game last night: Bullfight by Sega in Coinop mode

For me, this is retro gaming at its finest. Bad graphics and horrible music, but a fantastic concept and damn fun game.

I set the high score at a mere 24,000. Who here has a little matador in them?

No you're right buddy. It's hard core awesome! I love how you have to employ different strategies to dodge and counter attack the bulls. I could play it over and over. Very fun.

Steven, it's kind of like trying to anticipate where the bull is going to run, dodging him, and then trying to hit him in the circle zone to kill him. You can also hit him in the flank, but that won't take him down.

It has a different feel to it, but I am finding it very addictive so far.

ill give it another go, this is one of those cases whe my best score was my first attempt, now im trying to figure out if im sposed to be button mashing my red flag, or barely touching it. (plus im drunk)

I find it to be less of a button masher and more about precision timing.

The drinks might help you keep a fluid rhythm that you need in the game.

I got 30K. I was going to try to take the score when it was 40K but 60K seems a little out of reach.

A couple pointers.
You can get few extra points by hitting him in the face with the flag and then stabbing him in the butt and repeat. Basically keep him going in circles and charging at the flags instead of you. But eventually you will make a mistake and die so it might not be worth it. If you just go for the kill then you can get more points on the later levels and have less chance of mistakes.

Sometimes he gets back up. Don't let your guard down until his nose bleeds.

On level 4 a green bull comes out. If you kill the main bull while the green bull is out then you get triple points. Which should put you over 30K and give you a free life.

After the fourth level is a bonus level. Avoid the bull and use the clowns and walls to slow him down. You can get a lot of points this way.

Once I got 6400 points for killing the bull. I don't know why. Once I got 60 points for doing something but again I don't know what.

I just tried the bullfighting game and I get no sound. It does seem cool though, kind weird in silence though.

You get 6400 or 3200 for a successful knife plunge. I think this is based on both how you hit the bull, and also how your "performance" is up to that point.

Bullfighting is an art. I have seen bullfights in person and I feel like that has helped me understand the concept of the game. If you can get the bull to make a few good passes, waving your red flag while he runs at you and grow his bullseye to from yellow to green, you are building the crowd up for an exciting finale. On the next pass, you might try to plunge the knife into his spine, like in real life, and acheive a "clean" kill. In this case, a clean kill nets you 6400 points.

On a good pass, where the bull runs almost a complete circle, I can collect about 1,000 points. I am repeatedly hitting the cape button while the bull passes, and maneuvering my guy to stay out of the way.

Kong is right about the bonus rounds, big points there. I have only made it to that point once. That will soon change!

Strike that last statement. That bull in the 3rd round is a beast. If there is a trick to beating him, I haven't discovered it yet.

And how did you guys beat the vault on Hyper Sports? I can never get the job done!

I've hit the wall on bullfighting. I average about 30k and can't get past about 55k.
It's driving me crazy.

Hyper Sports vault - Press the run button once. You don't have to keep hitting run. Hit jump at the right time on the springboard. Hit jump again at the right time on the "horse". Alternate hitting the run buttons to spin faster.
